Thread: Perfect PVP suit complete

funny thing is, I have a suit that's 38+ stun and 85+ base on all pieces, and I can tell you from experience, it's inferior to my 90 base suit. Strafing even a large crowd with a jawa is a waste....anyone with novice medic can out-heal the damage you do easily and still have plenty of time for their own attacks. And a single combat medic with area stims will completely neutralize you.

I've done testing as a rifleman, and even if your targets have no stun resist ontheir armor at all, you're still better off picking one target and beating on his mind through 40+ stun resists with a jawa than you are using strafe. That's why, as long as you're fighting experienced players, you can build your suit to assume that any stun damage you take below the neck will be ap0 (jawa is the only ap1 stun weapon) and thus a single 4% layer and psg is enough to make it so unthreatening that the base resists, and even encumberance is a greater concern.

And a little FYI, many players are finding that T21s and DXR6 rifles often do more headshot damage than jawas, due to the fact that it's become the norm to buy a 65/66 base 40ish stun helmet for PVP. Anything but a monster slice will leave the base lacking (high 70s or low 80s usually), so even on the helmet, most players overdo stun resists unnecessarily, and sacrifice more important base resists. The 70% base 27% stun design is much more slice friendly, and the resists difference between 27% and 40% stun is small, while the difference between 80% and 90% base is huge (doubles the damage you recieve).

I've been through this discussion a few times while I was still building my suit, and just crunching the numbers makes it obvious...anything over 4% stun is unnecessary for anything but a helmet.

Yeah, the AP3 is tempting. Also the stun baton hits random pools and can trash this armor in a hurry. I wonder if just leaving the stun vuln like is commonly done in RIS is just best. It is a hard choice to make for sure, as there are +/- on both sides.

very nice suit arox

stun batons are weak seeing as how scatter hit 2 was an broken special and is now fixed a fencer with a 300 max damage baton will do a pityful amount of damage and rarely hits mind now anyways.

See I'm a rifleman and a smith too for a looooong time now. I reckon it depends on the skill lvl and experience of the Rifleman in question.

Noobie riflemen = Headshot spam with fav weaponuntil opponent dies or they die

Dunno abt you lot, but I almost always start off with a Jawa. You can tell alot from the initial engagement how experienced the opponent is or at least how well prepared they r.

I do Dizzy oppnent so they cant burst run after me just in case I need to kite / run,I stun oppnent so they become easier to hit. This is normally done with Flushing and Flurryshots. They hit random pools. Now if it is an experienced PvPer - he/she will have Synthsteak / PSGs / Stun armor and the Jawa will leave little to no impression - but I've still achieved my main goals of Dizzy / Stun. I will then proceed to switch to DXR6 or my babeee Exceptional T-21 to finish the job.

HOWEVER - when doing the flurry/flushing shots with Jawa and I actually SEE these attacks doing dmg - then I'd know that this person is one of those who:-

a) dont use PSGs / Food buffs

b) uses only a nice stun helm and little else like urself

I'd proceed to use my Jawa to strafe ya and we all know how that is going to end

KD+Dizzy you, strafeshot as you fall to the ground with a damage sliced kraytjawa.. You're done, it's over. I give the suit 8 out of 10 stars.

No it can't because the stun baton is AP0.

Lets say you do 500 dmg with a stun baton against someone wearing 50% stun PSG and some 4% stun armor like he has...

Damage before PSG : 500.

Damage After PSG : 125.

Damage that goes trhough the armor : 60.

Damage armor takes per hit : 6.

Replace his armor with 40% stun and you get the following result :

Damage that goes through the armor : 37.5

Damage armor takes per hit : 4 ( it's rounded).

It's all about tactics but in my experience you don't KD experienced players in pvp....

And the lower HAM of the suit allow you to use a wider range of food....

Here's also some math a lot of people don't think about...most people will use Imp Shields so we'll say on average 3k condition. 50% stun damage on those just for nice numbers.

Jawa has light AP, so you'll only get your 50% resists as shown

Lets say 500 dam shot, so 250 dam goes through with each shot. That means your shield can withstand 12 shots from the Jawa before its dead. Now unless the person is really really , good you'll have a couple shots where the PSG won't be blocking at all becuase it's hit 0 condition and because of the wait time for equiping a new one (that's if they've thought ahead and have them of the crates)

so then your 500 dam would go up against the 4% armor, which means 480 damage gets through.

So my advice would actually be to start out with the T-21 and kill the psg, then quickly switch to a Jawa once the shield is dead.

In any case, this is extremely nice armor, good work.

Well personally I would just start with the T21, kill the PSG and kill the owner of the PSG a few hits later but I probably have one of the nicest T21 out there and you can't base numbers on my kick ass toy

One thing you guys don't know either is that Arox has a 3.3k dmg Powerhammer so he's not gonna give you 20 shots to kill his PSG. If he reaches you, you are dead

I could be wrong but if 250 damage go through, that means the PSG only looses 25 dur perhit. So gonna take you a while to destroy it...

And when you can afford that armor you can sure afford a sliced PSG with 50% or more stun ( seeing as unsliced we make them at 46-47% on Valcyn).

Don't assume that. Large scale battles are more about area attacks than single targeting. Believe me since the innocs I've been in several where one side lost due to sheer damage output on the other side, not single targeting mind.

That 4% may be fair against a stun baton or a sonic blaster, but you're really selling yourself short when it comes to protecting against a jawa.

There have been battles that I've went through 3 PSGs, you can't always rely on a PSG to save you.
