Thread: Perfect PVP suit complete

Thought I'd post this, as I'm extremely proud of it. 90% base resists 80% elec on all pieces, with 4% stun on everything neck down and 42% stun on the helmet, and only 525-347-551 total encumberance (318 of that mind HAM from the helmet alone lol). Cost me a small fortune and months of nightsister farming to make it, but I've never seen or heard of a better complete suit. Most of the really good shards and layers got burned up with weak slices, and many of these actually came from churning out pieces 3-5%NS/3-5%NS/stun layers and -10/-10/-10 shards and bulk slicing. The helmet used some high end rancor hides and 3 patch-day stun layers.

naw...that's wrong...

lemme toss some numbers at you.

first: assume that anyone using a jawa in pvp is gonna target the mind (I shouldn't have to explain why this is a safe assumption), and that your psg is an average imp psg sliced to 50% base and 40% energy

With my 90 base 4% stun armor:

geo sonic - 12% dmg recieved through armor (3% if you count the 1/4 pvp penalty)

stun baton - 12% dmg (3%)

republic blaster/de-10 - 6% (1.5%)

dx2/scatter - 10% (2.5%)

VK - 10% (2.5%)

scythe/hammer/LVA - 12.5% (3.1%)

laser/elite carbine - 9.375% (2.3%)

dxr6 carbine - 12.5% (3.1)

With your 87 base 40% stun armor:

geo sonic - 7.2% dmg recieved through armor (1.8% if you count the 1/4 pvp penalty)

stun baton - 7.2% dmg (1.8%)

republic blaster/de-10 - 7.8% (2.0%)

dx2/scatter - 13% (3.3%)

VK - 13% (3.3%)

scythe/hammer/LVA - 16.25% (4.1%)

laser/elite carbine - 12.19 (3.0%)

dxr6 carbine - 16.25% (4.1%)

From a pure resist focused perspective, the 87 vs 90% base is a bigger difference than 4 vs 40% stun. Don't believe me? The best DE-10 I've ever made would do an average of 95 damage per hit through my chest plate and a psg, whereas the best sonic I've ever made would do around 45 per hit (and yes this is on my chest which is optimized for non-stun damage, with 4% stun tacked on for the ar1 bonus). It's just foolish to sacrifice from the base resists for more stun resistance when you're already twice as strong vs stun as you are vs ap1 weapons.

Then you have to account for the fact that stun weapons have lower damage and slower speed than non-stun weapons, and the fact that a suit with your heavy stun armor would be 350 or so encumberance heavier.

That helmet isn't the only 90 base heavy stun piece I own, but I stand by my statement that this is the best full suit I can piece together from what I own, and it's the best armor I've seen.

You should be able to raise the stun resist and still get the 90% base after slicing. Very nice armor, but I bet you could get that stun up without sacraficing anything.

So long as it is perfect for you that is a pretty sweet suit ) I know how long it takes to get those dang 90% slices.

Like Arox tried to demonstrate, having higher stun may be a nice number to look at but if you do the maths the difference is not what it seems like if you are wearing an average PSG....

Btw a 13% stun Chest and a 39% Stun one, the damage difference against a stun baton or a Geno Blaster is something like 4-5%........

Armor is not all about the stats displayed, it's about understanding how the armor protects you from damage too...

You can get the stun higher ( My own suit is 13% Stun 90% base except the helmet is 27% Stun 90% Base (nothing in special except elec and stun)) but the hamis higher.

Compared to Arox I think my suit is about 240-250 health and mind ham higher and maybe 400 action Ham higher...

That is still bellow 800 min ham and remains reasonable but his suit is better....

I sell both 13% Stun 70% Base and 39% Stun 66% Base and I am amazed how many people really don't understand the game mechanics and buy whole suits of 39% Stun when there is really no need to do so......

PS : God knows Arox and I are not friends, but he does understand how armor and weapons work, which sadly doesn't seem to be the case for all AS...

/sigh Polite as always......

I make 13% stun suits for ppl that know what they are doing and mass produce the 40% for people that just don't know any better. I understand the mechanics, but with buffs you can eleminate many complications due to high HAM costs.

With lower HAM costs let you get the HAM returned by the higher regen rates that you lose to the lower resists. The only real issue is that you lose a lot more durability on the 4% rather than the 40%. That is 60% post AR blocked as opposed to 96%. You still take a hit on the armor even though your HAM holds up just as well.

This armor however is excellent for PvE. Gives enough protection against the odd stun baton wielding night sister so you have a chance to run awaywhile giving those low ham cost, which do become a factor when taking heavy kin hits.

Considering your 4% stun will do little more than destroy your armor in no time against Jawas I dont think that was a smart idea.

Most Jawa users will be targeting the mind though...

It's not that hard to heal the damage done by a Jawa if another pool is targetted....

And when you can afford that armor you can sure afford a sliced PSG with 50% or more stun ( seeing as unsliced we make them at 46-47% on Valcyn).

Strafeshot2, the best rifleman attack special, hits random pools. It is commonly used in large PvP engagements.
