While I agree in principle that RIS with 80/80 stats and low-HAMshould convert much better than 80/50 or 70/20 or anything else ... how do you do that under the new system? Given what we've seen of conversion so far, nothing is converting particularly well ... and that makes me a sad panda.
Especially when were told "Anything that is really good under the current system will be good in the new system"
the dev have NO clue how much work it is to get 80/80 with less the 600 total ham suit.
so my non interwoven suit made with just plan kinetic layers with just be as good as my interwoven suit made with 14%,13%,10% ns layers, and exceptional shards. what a waste

The last poster hit the nail on the head. The 80% base definitely deseves to be better than the 65%er, no matter how you look at it.

How does this quote by TH on 3/31/05:
"All items will be converted in the Combat Upgrade. Weapons, Armor and all things combat related will be changed. As a general rule, if you had a great item before, you should have a great item after the conversion. As we get closer to the live publish, we will be posting more conversion guides to help answer questions during the transition."
equate to the following by Blixtev today:
"The biggest problem, I think, is that the system has absolutely no way of knowing whether you made your RIS with an interwoven segment or not.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Correct the system dumps all the components into a virtual bucket and takes the Sum of them all when crafting. "
Correct me if I am wrong but if an awesome 80/80 % suit with AA mods comes out the same as a regular suit of RIS with the conversion (TC Gorath AS tested this today and it's true), this seems a bit contradictory ??? Please explain? And trading in 80/80 interwoven RIS for a new RIS schematic is not the answer I am looking for

Read my new updated Gorath test center thread.
The difference between the two are now showing after latest patch this afternoon.

90% then, surely would fall into this category as well

I justreread that same post again. Definately does not seem to be the case.

I agree with this.
Devs it took even more effort to achieve the interwoven, why not give some kind of reward besides silence, and equality to a lesser item.
This is a very important issue, as the quest for RIS components is a big part of game play, its not just an armor, its a reason to get on and pay each month.

Hm ...
also have a RIS-Armor with all the special Items (Bones, Scales ...) the same STATs as all other Battle-Armors ...
Sorry, but is that the reward for the additional work?

Blixtev, your response then begs the question: What will happen to Interwoven RIS?

Who cares if it was made with an Interwoven Segment or not? If its got better stats (and most Interwoven RIS does) then it will be converted to better armour....or am I missing something here?

Well orrigionally the conversion the Non interwoven came out just as good as the interwoven. (Interwoven is SUPPOSED to be better)
Now though as I understand it they have actually fixed this problem.
