Just because they aren't here talking, doesn't mean they aren't listening, and keep in mind, this was done WITHOUT a corrospondant in their ear.

That said, I agree that their communication back with us leaves MUCH to be desired.

Zion, allthough its something, its still not the overall concern of the community. This was fixed via a tweak of the numbers in the current system. Almost like throwing a dog a bone to get it to shut up. This was an easy adjustment to hopefully quell the community into silence. Now adjust the resources down to a more manageable level and I will give them an attaboy, til then im still going to be a cynic.

Dont get me wrong, im glad they at least adjusted something, it still doesnt change the overall.

I find that when given something, it ensures future productivity to say "Thank you, keep it progressing and look at some of these other things" instead of "Sorry, but while it is nice that you addressed one of the overall key community issues, we really now think it doesn't matter anymore because we want everything else addressed."

But maybe that's just me.

Lol, man too funny. As I said earlier, this wasnt even a major issue. Yes it was an issue, but was like way down on the lists of anything even remotely of concern. They picked this because it was easy to fix and as I said, would make it look like they were addressing our concerns.

Dont get me wrong, if blix or someone from the devs would just come in and say, hey, we did the increased armor resources for this reason or we increased the armor factory run times for this reason, that would be something. A reason to why is worth more than a change sometimes. I mean come on, if Helios can do this with the weaponsmith communityand still get stuff done, why cant blix?

Again, yes im being cynical and I readily admit it, but its easy to be that way with the actions so far presented to us by soe staff.

I agree with you there, this was just the devs throwing us the smallest bone they were willing to give up.

My biggest concerns are the exponential increase in resources, the over simplified experimentation and the large number of named resources(this isnt shipwright).

I for one am not asking for everthing to be changed to the way I want. There are some very good things being done. I love the variation of armour in CU. I played on the TC and went up rifleman to have some fun. AND YES I ACTUALLY DID HAVE FUN.

It obviously needs work but thats why its being tested. And it's great that you won't have hundreds of players running around in exactly the same armour because its the best.

But why change the system of craftingarmour so drastically. Was it really that bad a system?

Okay they have made a good step forward with the faction armour. And that is good news.

But when a correspondant can't seem to get any information from anyone. Then I think there is somewrong with the communication between SOE and it's customers.

Please just let us know that you arelistening and least considering what has been suggested!

The devs always seem to give in on a small point or two to make the players shut up. As others have mentioned, they probably put unreasonable things in, just to take them out later.
I'd be more comfortable with a well thought out action plan provided by SOE.
Example: "By 4/25/05, SOE will make the final decision on drastically increasing the resources for armor". Without this type of action plan, the fixes will likely carry over into "live".

Was kind of thinking this last night too. But like I said, right now they are in the home stretch for their deadline. Right now they are fine tuning after they didd all the ugly stuff. Ya they can't make major changes, but at this stage it's easyto change a varible or two. 10 mins IF they are actualy good programmers.

I dont think so. A friend was telling me last night he got into the beta for it. The funny thing was, he has already canceled his renewal on his acct. Conspiracy to keep him in? Hrmm....

How can people say this was not a major issue? It was listed on our list of major issues. The very fact that we now turn around a say to the Devs "oh we didn't want that one we wanted these over here" instead of just saying Thanks Devs! Keep it coming.

Have a read on the Commando boards, a profession that was quite easily the worst combat skill ingame as a master. When the Devs started giving them love did they say "Oh hey, why change that we want this that and the other?" No they said thanks and keep it coming and now they are easily one of the top combat skills to have.

I for one appreciate the lowering of the FP and hope the Devs keep bringing us some love.

Who cares? Can I get a show of hands please. This is like spitting at a bushfire.

well, I for one care. though not our major issue. this shows that the developers are fine tuning now.
could be worse, could be leakin in the wind.

Sad to see that they are finetuning becasue thats not really what they should be doing right now they should be saving the profession they so blatantly decided to destroy.

And once again this is one of those fix a couple of variables to be lower and we hope they are happy solutions. The day I see they fix one of the core issues that actually take some programming I will be clapping my little ex armorsmith hands in glee.
This is just something so they hope to keep us happy. The sad thing is that it looks like its working.

oh i whole heartly agree, but as for project timeline wise, doing adjustments of variables can be save for a bit. They've shown our input doesn't matter, and Yes I'm skeptical. They'll adjust some variables to get us to shut up. the CU will go out, then after that they'll work on crafting up grade ( hopefully). Don't think they intended to "destory", Just make things interesting. just like thawaking a bee's next.

While we had this on our issue list, let's also recognize that we probably weren't the only ones upset with the FP cost. Whereas the experimentation line and factory times only really affect us, the FP change affects everyone. So, I wouldn't say they are listening to the armorsmiths and giving us love over other professions. Rather they are making a change that affects the entire population base and an easy change at that.

it's "part of the list, but not our highest issue. Still is the experimentation bar and resources. FP can't be dealt with no matter what the setting is. Just means people like me won't be able to do faction armor as quickly as others.

Exactly. The FP issue was one of the top issues AS COMPILED BY OKRAM, FROM THIS VERY COMMUNITY.

The fact that we say it was a top issue, and then when it gets fixed, diminish the importance of it and cry about other issues, only makes us look HORRIBLY bad. If the community acts like that, why would they care about us anyway?

And don't say "because we'll leave", because their response is that they are Launching SWG for PS2 and X-Box in August, and they will be getting a whole new market through consoles - so acting this way does not benefit us in the least - it just makes us look like ungrateful little brats. /rant
