My guildmates have made it a habit to bring me Sharnaff plates and segment enhancers, as well asvoritor hidesfor free. We found them useful for enhancing the wookie armor to include protections they would not otherwise have. As a master armorsmith, I'm trying to produce a wide variety of armor for all types of players and found that Sharnaff Chitin has been growing in popularity. Next to Composite, it covers the most damage types of any other armor (Save for Tantel which only includes head, chest, and boots). If made right, most protections will be at around 30%, except for a couple at 4%. Kinda like the poor man's composite Aside from the protection it brings, people are also buying it for style. I try to include all the different chitin colors I can. Ubese too (although not very many colors look good on the ubses suit).

As for buying them...not sure I would buy anything but the enhancers (not the segments), and even then, not sure I would buy them for more than 500 cr per piece.

I've found that things like Rancor Hide, Kimo Scales, and Krayt Scales are best used in armor like Ubese and Wookiee armor. Mainly because they have such low resistances to begin with in the base that when theresists in the scale/hide become special and unsliceable it's not a whole lot lower then if the piece had gotten a greatslice. As far as segements go those are just a total waste unless someone is after a very low eff and low encumbrance armor.
