I use 4/8 kinetic layers, putting no experimentation into ham. Although 5 base and 15 special are the theoretical maximums, 4 seems to be the practical limit on base and the highest i can get the special tois 13 (which is used for Ubese and not composite).

You want to max out the base for kinetic layers in composite because it will also increase the final kinetic resist as well. Three 4/8 layers will easily get you to 80% kinetic resist even with non-advanced segments.

With advanced segments, this will get you pretty high resists in the final pieces.

True. It is heavy, but the demand I have is for the resists to be as high as possible. No one seems to care about ham anymore.

well its not an easy one to call, it all depends on your base resist and of course on your kinetic layer and on the materials you are using.

I'll send you a tell in game later, see if we can figure it out for you.

I'll try to help out as best I can for people who are having trouble with finding the right mix of layers to hit 80% with a high base. This is more of a "how-do-I-figure-out" guide.

1. Take notes! Using different resources will affect the outcome of all armor and segments. There are so many different combinations, it's almost impossible to remember it all. On top of resources, experimenting on the armor in different ways will also determine the resists.

2. Start with your 3 kinetic layers. Normally, 4%-7% kinetic / 2%-3% base is all you need to hit the 80% mark. But, it will vary depending on the resources used. Make 3 layers *EXACTLY* the same using the same experimentation points into the same fields. Try not to use any with "amazing" sucessess because it will skew the results. (When you figure out the right mixture, you can always use that mixture and go for the "amazings", it will only help make the armor better)

3. Make a Composite segment using your 3 identically experimented kinetic layers. Put a majority of experimentation points into raising the base% and the rest into HAM.

4. Make a pair of Composite gloves using that segment. Pour in as much experimenation points into raising the base effectiveness as possible, using any leftovers into HAM (which also raises the kinetic % in the "special protection" area).

5. If you're hitting 78%-79% kinetic, raise your kinetic layers by 1% and repeat the entire process. Keep in mind, when you raise your kinetic 1% on the layers, it's actually 3% because of the triple layering. That being said, more than likely, your will *NOT* have to pour all experimenation points into the Composite Gloves when you re-work your formula. You still want to max out the Base% on the Composite segment itself, like before, but when making the gloves, since you kinetic% resits was upped throught the layers, your base doesn't have to be as high to hit 80% kinetic. Get it up to the same Effectiveness % and then pour the rest into Special Protection like before, you should hit 80% no problem without maxing out the base.

(side note-since you are trying to raise your base%, you might need to max out the base%, but this is a general guide and you will actually be doing the opposite. It's possible your kinetic% is too high because you're using awsome resources, so you can tone down your kinetic% & raise your base%)

6. Equipped with this knowledge, you can now experiment and "play" with the layers to figure out your own formula for getting the 80% kinetic while maxing out your base% to hit around the 68-70%'s. You will burn through a lot of resources to get the right mixture, so make sure you have plenty of the resources you plan on using to produce.

I hope this helps!!
