Thread: Question about segments & layers

Hoping that someone can help me with this.

When u make a adv. composite suit with kinetic layering and want it to end up in around 60% base and 80% kinetic, then what do you aim for in you layers inbase protection and special protection?

Same goes with the segments, what's your goal to hit in base and special to make a 60/80 suit ?

With the resources I have:

Kinetic Layer: 4% base 5% kinetic

Adv Comp Seg: 31% base 16% kinetic

This gives me 80% kinetic and 65-66% base. Like I said though, this is with the resources I use. You will have to experiment with your own to see what you can get.

Well, lets ust say i can get 12% kinetic from each layer... but i get much more embarrasing segments. Also, i've never made a 3 kinetic layered composite suit. But i'm just saying that i know you can get the layers up to 12% ... that might be the higest as i was using some pretty good materials.

What is your question? 12% may be the highest you can go, and if you triple layer you could end up with 36-37% (depending on that decimal point).

That % on the segment may be a waste. If you dump all your exp into kinetic and not pay attention to the base and encum, you just end up with a heavy suit with 80% kinetic and a base in the 40s. You don't always have to maxx out on the layers to get the 80%.

Layering requires lots and lots of testing to see what you can do. I have a note book filled with my experiments.

Agreed, you are putting WAY too many points into kinetic. I get 80% kinetic suits with 7% kinetic layers. I also get 59% base with 2% base layers. This makes a nice balanced suit and I get the HAM on the layers down to 2/2 or 2/1 if I get lucky.

Put enough kinetic on there so 80 - (Base % of Composite) = total of kinetic layers.

2 layers is a good way to conserve resources, but with 3 layers, you can increase base and decrease HAM costs.

with the resources that i have i use 3% base 5% kinetic 3/3/3 layers

I’m getting 80%kin 60%base with my layers being 4%base 6%kin. The results will depend heavily on your resources. You’re going to have to play around with making gloves till you find the right combo.

True. It is heavy, but the demand I have is for the resists to be as high as possible. No one seems to care about ham anymore.

Hmm I can make 80% kinetic 70% base, maybe 71% now, haven't tried in a while...

I never mass produced it though and I am doing 80% electricity 68% base instead so that people are able to get kinetic over 80% after slice....

And it is very slow to selll....

I sell 4 suits of 80% kinetic 64% base for one suit of 80% elec 68% base....

Somehow I'm missing something during the creating/experimentation process. I've made 2/11 kinetic layers and then making the armor segment with 3 kinetic layers. After my experimenting I'm still only getting 60%max kinetic gloves. Whenever I experiment on special resist of the comp segment it only raises the elec rating and not the kinetic. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

mmm a bria dude?

Yeah experimenting on special resists only raises the electric resist. If you max out your base resist then spend a couple of points on durability? (the one at the top anyway) it brings the special protects up a few percent.

btw nice kirrium spawned on bria today

Thanks for the Kiirium tip

So what is the process needed to make 80%kinetic. I mean what to experiment on for the segments and then the actual armor. Keep in mind that I'm using extremely high qual resourses.
