Thread: RIS Armour -Anyone got the recluse gurk king hide ?

I was hunting Gurks all day, and i have found that the lairs with 2 or more Feral Gurks, 9 out of 10 times, spawned a King at the end. Just remember not to kill the lair off to rapidly. Not quite up to 60 kills but im around the 20 mark and still no hide. But thanks for letting me know that they are dropping. I see tomorrow will be another day of hunting. =)

I thought the GDK scale was the elusive one


gurk king have static spawns, I have gotten a hide a both spots

Don't take missions - drive around and find the Nest on Lok. If there are at least two feral gurks during the mob killing it's about a 95% certainty that you'll get a king spawn.


7 hides down 3 to go for my full set (going for a schematic on the Acklay Drop....)

I have no problems getting the Gurk King Hide, I got 17 so far. Its the woolamander bone and the GDK scale that suck!

My experience on Tarq this week... Bout 75% drop rate, from gurk nests, not from missions, gotta be the "nest". Also , every once in a while Gurk Destoyers will spawn w the king, lvl 43(i think) and its the only gurk that is tameable.

there are 2 static spawns for the gurk king that i camp alot.. ill post the coords once the server comes back up.


there is a 3rd spot which spawns gurk lairs all the time..



i killed about 5 today and got notta, dunno if they nerfed it last night or not but i guess we'll see

Totally Noob question here.


How does one get the quests for the armor?

Just started a Armor smith and wanted to take a shot at making a set of the armor.

Any and all help welcome.

You have to be a Master AS first. Then you'll need some super-rare items. Check out the RIS FAQ for details

i found that the gurk king hide is the easiest to get. there are 2 stat gurk king lairs. also look for the wild lairs "nest" with feral gurks. When the lair is almost destory, it spawns a gurk king and 2 gurk destoryers. I have looted 18 and have 23 total

One king, one hide But, 1 GDK no hide, and I have yet to see a Peko Peko Albatross, and its not for lack of trying!
