Thread: Armorsmith Vs. Weaponsmith resource needs
I was told to always do advanced stuff because it gives more protection. So...
What about an advanced suit?
Yeah- I know you guys must be getting a lot of "how much?" questions... ><

Yes, but the stuff you listed includes most resources an armorsmith will use for just about every type of armor you´ll ever use (excluding advanced layers, I think), whereas every single high lvl weapon has at least one requirement for a named resource. As a ws it took me most of a year to get good resources for all kinds of weapons, whereas my armorsmith resource stockpiling took one week - I had a lot of resources from a static harv farm that I could use already, and a hunter alt, so of course that made it somewhat easier for me. Long rant just to say that I´m both a ws(9 months) and as(1 week) and find ws to be far more complicated.

I do understand that weaponsmith takes alot of resources, but so does armorsmith. Examples:
These are just some of them and all need oq and shock to be high. My point is, I dont think weaponsmith takes more or less than what an armorsmith takes. I believe soe just evened the playing field some is all.
as it stands now, weaponsmith pretty much needs the best of the best. there is no real "fudging" so to speak as weaponsmiths don't deal with hard caps which even if circumvented, do not yeild better stats. as an armorsmith, i can get away with using inferior hides in my layers and segs and still hit caps.
the difference, is the amount of products, and that is the main resource difference. while armorsmith surely does require a lot of resources and creature resources at that, the total amount of products one will produce is not nearly as many in variety as a weaponsmith who even makes 1/2 of his or her available weapons.
WS doesn't use any creature organics. And our factory time really, really, sucks azz. In the neighborhood of 8 factory hours for a set of layered assault armor.
Not that WS doesn't have some factory time, but AS has it much worse.
