Other than doing stun protection layers in the helmet...wouldn't a better approach for PvP armor is to do cold or maybe blast damage layers in order to bump up the base in order for a nice effectiveness slice on the remaining protections?

If your main concern is to bump up the base ... add Electrical Layers to Composite. That way you don't add anything to Special Resists and base gets a nice hefty push ... and everything (except Electrical) is effectiveness sliceable.

And then the riflemen with the T21 blows your client's mind away. I am pretty sure that because of the terrible power of the rifle in PvP today, you want multiple helmets with the good suit. I have a stun hat, an acid/stun hat and going to have a straight energy hat made as well.

or you get a nice stun helm with eff slice. Made one that I personally wear: 40% stun, 66% elec and 80% base. Heavy as hell, but it works great.

Well, i'm a master armorsmith on Ahazi, and i've not been doing it long. but from what i've been told (and been selling) Energy, Heat, Kinetic layers in composite sell good. If you consider, these are the primary 3 types of damage you're gonna be dealing with.

As of right now the highest i can get my armor is at 55%. Which isn't wonderful, but thats because of the current resourcesi have ( a few double digit qualities!!! eww). Anyway, even 55% is pretty good when you consider it'll block 75% of all incoming damage that a pvper is likely to deal out. (except obvious acid / stun )

I would advise not to use acid or energy layers as stated above...

If you are really equipping pvpers they don't care about ham and want resists to be as high as possible.

Best is to use electricity layers and get base as high as you can ( hopefully 68% or above) so that post slice they can get resists in the 85%+...

Using an energy or acid layer will just move those to special resists and prevent them to be sliced up...

For helm I wouldf use a triple stun layer hoping to get stun around 37%...
