The majority of other crafters doged the nerf bat.
WS couldnt be more happy, new weapons, all additions and no subtractions.
Armorsmiths took the beating of a life time.
And out poor corrospondent

well its easy to see how this system effects your prof adversely. Its this stupid lvl v lvl system that has no fixed base damage which basically means it either decreases or increases based on your combat lvl. Now chef for instance fair enough their food may increase certain pools or stats by 20% to 10% or certain stats by +20 or what ever but that won't mean you can live longer to kill things. It just makes you survive slightly longer until you eventually die. Its basically mapped out so that if you fight anything thats say 4 lvls or 3 lvls above or red con to you, you will get killed regardless of your combat lvl and no amount of food buffs doc buffs armor etc will stop that. Now can you see how that effects certain professions.
Thats why the system in live works, because all those crafted items actually can have a significant impact on an encounter with a mob. So you have a chance of defeating it or that your armor negates X amount of damage effectively; because mobs did a fixed amount of damage regardless if you were novice or master.

not true...because in the new patch, weapon certs are mainly tied to level, it has eliminated most of the market for lower end weapons. switch profs and you get certed for higher up weapons for your new prof automatically.
the market will be a big bubble initially for the new weapons and then dry up quick
not that i think WS has it worse than AS don't get me wrong...but we do have our problems as well
not to mention the fact that most any crafter is never going to be able to check a harvester alone again

I'm an architect. No changes in CU for our crafting that I'm aware of. Lack of an armor cert is a bit of a concern but not a huge one for a lot of people, only a minority. So not much to revolt over specific to architect.
But in general our top 5 issues are the same from Oct '04 and mostly the same from 2003. We've had vitually no communication from SOE on our issues for months. I agitate about our issues in the archiect forum sometimes but its like screaming in a vaccum.

I've been master chef on bria since release.. it was my first profession, and I fear the worst. The chef revamp had us go from 3 foods or so, to 12 or so ... and with this combat upgrade.. I am clueless.I currently harvest nothing, buy nothing, read the boards rather than play on live, gave up on TC, and with ONE (1) combat exp,[stupid thug-it deserved to die], I fear.
Good news tho.. I will be a multimillionairress newbie, learning a brand new game.

As a crafter on a couple servers but NOT an Armorsmith I must step in here because the failure of the Devs to "listen" to any of us is universal. I must also point out that the ONLY problem here is the communities failure to REALLY do anything about it. I read all these posts about the Devs failure to heed to the desires of us, the guys who pay their salaries, and act accordingly. How many of you guys who constantly post how the Devs never listen to us have actually cancelled your subscriptions? Almost 2 yrs into this and the problem from the beginning is the same problem as today. The devs refuse to listen to the community. If its been 2 yrs and no progress how many of you actually think its ever gonna get better?! If you want to make a statement then cancel your subscriptions. That is the only "post" they will listen to.I know this game is addictive and all but if things are that bad then quit. The devs will take notice of that if nothing else. I dont expect this post to be around long so take heed, and yes I have cancelled my subscription in case anyone asks.

Exactly what I am doing Fignar. I hold little(no) hope that the game will be worth aS-H-I-T even then but who knows,

I'm probably gonna kill one of my toons. I have two accounts, and it's just not worth it anymore.
It'll take some getting used to. But pretty much everything I liked about the game before is pretty much dead.
I like SW though, so i'll still play. But I'm pretty sure one of my toons will die in the next few months.

I read on the Bloodfin forums (my home) from Greyskull, an AS there, that it will take about 50k+ of hide to do a factory run of armor. 50k+? That is insane! I am not sure if it is true, but I doubt he has reason to lie about it (he is begging people to sell him hide now), but God knows. And with Scouts/Rangers not getting any combat incentive, who in the hell is going to get all of this hide? I have a Master Ranger/Master Rifleman, and man, it can take some time even to get just 100k, depending on the critter.
And I have a crafter, too (Master Artisan, Master Shipwright, Merchant), and I feel you guys, totally. I was a Master Doc, but dropped it quick, fast and in hurry to pick up SW. Why? Because damn it all if they start nerfing space! If I even stick around, I will be up there all of the time. No, they won't do anything with their baby, JTL.
I used to have faith in SOE. Now, I am starting to realize that issues that have been around for two years have not been resolved, that they are just replacing a borked system with some thing probably even more borked, and then with some thing that no one likes to boot! And I thought we were getting a Combat Upgrade and Re-Balance, not and SWGO (Star Wars Galaxies Overhaul)!

Chef here since launch. Devs are giving our profession another revamp, even though the last one was supposed to be the one we got with the CU in mind, funny how that works.
Anyway we are totally clueless as to what does what, in fact it was only the other day that they patched in a fix that showed the stats and whatnot on foods and drinks for TC.
The devs have the best crafting system of any MMO at their fingertips, it's a pity they don't use it to their advantage.
(oh, I'm also hoping PSG's are going to be able to save me while being attacked by 2 voritors while tending my factories, if not, I also hope that the devs never fix the fact that CA's still work on fully decayed clothing)
