Thread: Proof that 1 bad resource can ruin armor....
Here's what I typically do. For the layers I experiment the HAM all the way down. I then put any leftover points into Effectiveness. If I were making a kinetic layer, I'd probably put one point into special resists (resistance is the category, I think). I've learned from experience that that'll allow me to hit 80% using the resources I use.
You're probably going to have to put fewer points into HAM and more points into base resists/spcial resists. I'd suggest trying 2-3 points in special resists, 2-3 points in base resists and everythign else in HAM. You want to get the HAM reasonably low on the layers if possible.
For the segments and the final product, max effectiveness. Put every point you've gotinto into. You should have at least one point left over, however. Put any leftover points in HAM/Durability. When you make the final product (the actual piece of armor itself), you'll see the special protections dramatically rise when you experiment HAM/Durability. That's due to a bug-fix that was put in place because we were unable to expeirment the special resists on composite. Do not put any points into special resists on either the segment or the final piece of armor.

Are you talking about regular Composite segments or Advanced Composite Segments?

He's talking bout the segment, not the layer.

my first guess would have been the slightly different resource ratios for the different armor parts (compare chestpiece to bracer, all resource numbers are halved, except beryll copper), but if that was the cause then your boots should have 63%, too.
