Composite isn't the uber armor it was before cu. If you would read the faq, you would see it is one of several types of assault armor. Assault armor will have the same stats. Composite is just the "skin" or the actual term is appearance. Using the same assault cores, assault will have the same protection stats as Chitin, Ithorian Sentinal, Kah Hunting, Padded, and factional armor.
Yeah my current run of assault cores (layered) look to be about 7200+ kinetic and have since improved resources so next set will be better...
since originally posting I have since read the armor numbers and since I'm talking Assault with Primus layers I see I'm not that far from max of 7600...

Padded is not Assualt

I can afford to buy good stuff If I need to but usually Harvest most of mine... Take a little time to put together a list of what you need then go from planet to planet surveying and sample try to find the best stats for what you need and drop harvestors on it and suck it up and Store it till you have high quality of all you need... in the mean time sell your lower stat armor at prices that reflect its lower stats and shop the resource vendors for deals of the few things i have bought from resource vendors it has been because I put in the time to scroll the list and find someone who was selling it below everyone else.
