Assault armor has an unlayered cap of 7000 kinetic/5000 energy/6000 special. You get UP TO a 400 point addition on the final combine, so you only need your cores (not counting layers) at 6600 kinetic/4600 energy/5600 special to reach that cap. If you go over, you only reduce the amount of the 400 extra points you get. In your case, since you only went up 118 points, I bet your cores if you removed the layers were 6882kinetic/4882 energy/5882 special. Since you are only 118 points from the cap on the unlayered part, you are only added that much at the final combine.
THEN, they count your layers into it giving your the resists that you got.
In summary, you went a little overboard with your core and segment resources and need to improve your layer resources (if possible).

I'm not sure what the experimentation % was on my layers, but they are +92E/-93K. And yes, that is the best possible for my server.

I got the schem about a month before health enhancers were fixed, but finally gave in and crafted it like a week before

the AS room is pretty easy. there's only 1 level to it, so you dont have to worry about making sure you get aggro on mobs above/below you. but ya, just have everyone stand on the opposite side of the room from you and taunt/dominate mind all the mobs onto themselves so that they stay off you. i think only 4 mobs spawn in the AS room, so it's not too bad.

gratz on the armor..will use that for a ref...i am not a AS..but loot mizer..heh...i have gotten all the bharmor components off the blacksun on yavin and now getting the armer enhancement thingies from acklay....i have group of friends that i do the dwb with..we just started about a month ago and been getting everyones jetpacks..which i also finally got base for...i dont mean to highjack the thread but since you just went thru it..figured you could answer couple questions for me...if you dont mind..if so then just ignore this post.....1. do you have to make a trip for each piece of armor...if so ..that means 10 trips..or does bracer and bicep make both at once which would cut it down to 8,,i have two of each so np there if so..2. i take it i will still need 8/10 of each of the liquids off the ghost wraiths?....
i have a armorsmith friend but he has never tried to craft this before . so i figured on starting him out on the bracer or biceps first to see what happens...i guess the boots/gloves and belt . dont give protection do they...so maybe do them next..and save helm/chest/pants for last...anyways..thx for your time..peace out
