Thank you both for your help, I appreciate your time. I am looking for the simplest pricing method .. the 10cpu sounds pretty good. I would feel wrong adding the modifier just yet, being that I have just started , but at master level - for sure.

In all my time as a Tailor, I've used Nivea's Pricing Guide. You should be able to find a link to it as you search this board.

The only variable for me now is BE-enhanced items, which I generally charge 1k per plus for at the moment, more for absurdly high plusses or multiple categories.

I also used Nivia's price guide (and of course modified it as I went). I did a search in the tailor forum for it, and it looks to me like it is no longer online (not surprising since she quit tailoring a month back or so).

Anyhow, if you can get ahold of this, I recommend it. What I like about it is that firstly, the prices are high but fair. Certainly nobody will accuse you of undercutting, but very few customers will complain about price in my experience. Secondly the guide is relatively insightful about what customers perceive as value rather than simply basing it on material cost. For example, if you use a resource-based formula you'll practically be giving cloaks away for nothing (1k or so). But because they are a fairly high level item, and very popular, they carry a high price tag in her guide, which I found was very appropriate.

For me, I charge the following:

All clothing should be considered to cost you 3cpu (Whether you harvest it yourself or buy from the bazaar) and for the time and effort to put an item together, it's 10cpu to sell. This gives a good profit, and most items are not very high priced. The highest price I charge is 10k for the Robe of Honor. I also markup the Tier 4 and master items. I've seen them sell on vendors for 14k-15k but that just seems too high to me.

Bio engineered cloth is entirely different. Most of the best stuff costs me 10cpu to get the really high quality components, or I have to go hunt it down myself, or have friends gather it for me. +1 to +5 will cost me next to nothing, and I don't usually sell it, unless it's some junk tissue I throw together on the fly. 1k per + is a good bet, but charge 5k for anything up to +5. +6 to +10 usually requires alot more, and I charge 15k for it. +11 to +13 is 20k, +14 to +15 is 25k, and +16 or +17 is 50k (Remember that it is only possible with a master BE and the best experimentation to get to a +17 or maybe a +18. I've yet to find really good stuff for better than that in large quantities.

Mollusks and Milk - well as any good BE knows, they just don't exist in quantity. I recently got a stack of 895 milk. (Don't ask how much I paid, you'll faint) To make a profit, I'm charging 500k per cloth, and it gives a satisfying +14 taming bonus when used.

Factory crates: 2500 for fiber panel crates, 5000 for Synth Cloth, and 7500 for Reinforced Fiber Panels. This gives 10cpu, and considering I need to run it through a factory, there are factory costs, offsetting the time to make such large orders, but it still takes valuable time to run the schematic through... I know you can find synth cloth on the bazaar for 2500-3000 per crate. More power to the Tailors that are selling them, but it is not cost effective to bother, so I don't sell them. Should someone want, I can make a large run though

Now, I keep a few crates of Kaf, tea, aircake and cookies handy for customers that are going to be there for awhile. The longest time I spent with someone was about 2 hours working on specific clothing, so they could have the exact look. I don't recommend this to people, but I love the roleplaying and interaction of this kind of thing, and so it was really fun to do. I'll usually stop what I'm doing and put on my tailor cap to custom tailor for people on the fly.

I do not have a vendor, and I can't stand making clothing without knowing who is going to be wearing them. I have on occasion popped some items on the bazaar when I was experimenting with some BE tissues in undershirts and lined workshirts (my favourite under-armour-shirt) I don't make huge profits per day as others do with a steady stream of vendor sales, but I do have customers getting exactly what they are looking for, and I love doing that. I will not sell something if it doesn't look just right for them. I am not satisfied selling to someone if I don't think it looks good.

Hi,

I'm new to Armoursmithy and need some advice on how to achieve the perfect set of Mabari Armorweave Armour. Specifically can anyone guide me to the best base resources to use to create this ( a specific type name would help), along with any special components which would make this as good as I can get it

Thanks

You want the perfect set? of Mabari? Without asking the obvious question of "Why?", I'll just give you the basics. First, level up by grinding so that you:

1. Can make advanced armorweave segments.

2. Can use max experimentation points.

Then, find the resources where Overall quality, Malleiabilty, Shock resistance, and Unit Toughness are all 1000 (Good luck on this one). After that, practice on making the glvoes and use your experimentation to find a good combination for what you are looking for. I'd spend most of it trying to boost the base and stay away from boosting the special protection (unless you are making it for protection against flame throwers).

Once you make a set of gloves that you like apply the same experimentation rules to the other armor peices as well. Hope this helps.

Hi, right now I am MHS and MCH. I am keeping MCH because I just like having it. I also have novice medic and novice pistoleer. I'm thinking about dropping pistol. In doing so I will have enough points to go up 1 tree in Fencer. What I would like to know is what tree I should do, Stances and Grips or Technique? Which tree do you old time vets suggest and why?

Thanks for your help.

Do you want fencer for offence or deffence? If defence i would go stances and grips to get the most deffence for your point. If offence go footwork.

I am in the process of leveling up to Swordsman. i am already a Master Doctor and i can Master Swordsman and still have 18 skill points left. what other tree of brawler should i take up? With 14 points i can learn another novice tree like 1handed or unarmed? Any advice on what to do with my 18 remaining skill points.

personally I did 1/0/0/0 scout, that way I have a little Terrain Negotiation and can harvest. I dont think anything in the brawler tree will help since that sword or hammer will be at work all the time!

I agree, with the points left, you should not take any other brawler tree wich will not give you any interesting skill ...

Take scout for terrain negociation and harvesting ...
