Thread: Regarding LS resists Tantel

True. The one plus though is that its a slice-able resistance. So with a slice and made with looted components you could get it up to 50% resistance. And since Tantel is so light as is, it's not like you need to worry about an encumbrance slice.

This makes me happy, even before the "combat rebalance" Tantel may well have jhoined the ranks of "useful and producable armours"

Which is good as it is my favourite armour and I planned to make it my speciality.

frind made some quick tantel at 15% lightsaber...

dont know if it's still resiting...

but you'd need 26% ls resists to do anything, because ls are ar2. below 25 and you're making my saber stronger

You need 20%+to counter-act the AP bonus, not 25.

hmm i always found it to be 25% increase and decrese for ap.. oh well. back to the drawing board on that one...

from the faq..

What is going on: When you attack an enemy with an armor piercing weapon that is greater than your target's AR, you receive the damage bonus (25% in this case, because AP2 is one step greater than AR1). However, your resists still apply. In this case, Bob's damage is first increased to 125, then reduced by 40% (50 points).

at least i think that's right...

Just to throw in my initial results using very good materials, except for my two weakest ones:

Bristley Hide

OC 616

SR 965

and

Avian Bone

OC 728

SR 361

I ended up with:

Energy 18%

All Others including LS 25%

no vulnerables

I used a very good energy layer maxed on base.

Someone beat me please i would like to see whats possible without added components.

And wouldnt it be nice if they introduce a LS layer

Doh, logged out several times last night, moved the item to a vendor and back and it kept the LS resistance. Logged in this morning and now the Tantel IS vulnerable to LS.

It would be nice to get some official response to whether or not it's intended to be resistant to it or not. But maybe they haven't made up their minds yet.

You are correct, it is a 25% damage increase. To get that 125% damage back to 100%, you need to reduce it by 20%. A 25% resists vs. a 125% damage bonus is about the same as a 7% resist with no damage bonus.

(Total Damage) * (1 - % Resist) = Applied Damage

(1.25) * (1 - x) = 1
x = .2

Math is fun!

Not going to read all the posts.... but....

21% to all except stun, energy. So far LS resists are persisting, but I'm waiting the rumored few hours for the stat to drop.

I think this is cool, was not expecting this. Wonder if its a temperory thing just to see how it works with the armor ratings borked?
