About 2 weeks back on Test Center we found that newly made Tantel armor had LS resists(not refering to a vendor bug saying they do have them. The actual items had LS resists). We did not, however, test this the last week or so on TC. It may seriously be worth AS's time to try making some pieces to see if this still holds true.
Any other armor types outside of PSGs, even newly made ones, did not show any LS resists. We did not, however test:
New BH armor drops
Crafted RIS
Crafted Mandolorian
Since all 3 are not exactly easy to come by O.o
Tantel armor, when we tested this, had a default of around 6% LS resists. And when made with top resources, looted components, lots of amazing successes, and 12 experimentation points, could very well see 30 to 50% resists.
Again, I strongly would suggest that this be tested on live because, at least 2 weeks ago, Tantel did have Ls resists when newly made.

I do not think now would be the best time to test this. From what I've been reading, all armour types, including the PSGs which we know should have resists, don't (when off the vendor). If Tantel is meant to have it, and newly crafted ones, do not, then it could simply be thecurrent bugs.

That would be correct. When we first noticed the Tantel resists on TC, it was not retroactive. It only applied to pieces made under publish 9. The vendor bugs are making a mess of things for sure, but I can say that it was not bugged that Tantel had these resists on TC(we weren't having this vendor issue at the time). One of my best friends and guildmates was grinding AS on TC1 when she stumbled across it. We made a bunch of pieces later on TC2 and confirmed with combat spam it was resisting. This was 2 weeks ago, however, which is why once things settle down, it really should be tested because unless they changed something, Tantel should now have those resists.

Confirmed on Sunrunner
Tantel now has resists to both stun and lightsabre. Vulnerable to Blast.

Log completely off (like for at least 10 mins) and log back on with the piece in your inventory to be sure.

im no AS but im glad u found this...else jedi would be rtoo uber at higher levels to fight them and win...now theres much better chances, and this would also explain a good reason for the delay timer for armor, since ull get ur ass kicked by a swordsman with it
-good job

What are resist percentages out of curiosity?

26% on all the effectiveness stats - used mediocre organics (just what I could gather).

This is about in line with what my friend on Test Center got(26 to 29%). However she didn't have the absolute best materials, only 10 experimentation points, and critical failed on experimenting twice. She figured that optimally, you could get the armor up above 40% if you used really good materials and looted components and had a good experimentation run.
Also we found during testing that you need that resistance up around 20% at least before it actually resists lightsaber damage. We guessed it was something with the AP 2 on lightsabers. So to get actual good protection from Lightsabers your customers really are going to want 3 good pieces of Tantel and a good crate of PSGs with it.
It certainly would make a good Bounty Hunter package though

Doesn't look like it sticks though
I logged out for a while, when I came back the armour was vulnerable to LS. Still stun protected but no LS.

Eep. Probably related to the other armor LS resistance bugs then. It was sticking on Test Center. I'd wait till they hotfix this then give it another try.

Hmmm
Here's what I made earlier...

Haven't logged back in to see if its held tho. Used half decent stuff, 10pt smith with 4/4 stun layers i had lying about. Dont reckon Tantel base will go higher than 30% without looted enhancements (poss not above 25%, seeing as this is 24% with a 4% bonus and OQ's around 850+ avegerage and a single amazing result and the rest great.). Max LS protection we'll see is prob 40% with top notch loots. thats my tuppence worth anywho.
