Actually, the effectiveness slice will raise your secondary resists, not the special resist. So if you have 16% resists and get a 30% effectiveness slice, your resists will now be 20-21.

Well, it looks like a person who is a smuggler should be on this.

I will just talk about the charging part.

There are people who charge at a either 100 in cash per every 1% (wow, I wish that was only true on Bloodfin!).

at least on Bloodfin things are a little different and a little costly at times. People there usally chage a 1k per a 1% sliced so if you got a 30% well, that's 30k.

As for myself, I have found that by setting a flat fee I can still make a profit and still comepete with other smugglers.

Since I only have a level four slicing and not a Master Smuggler, I have not factored in enhanced skills into the pricing, but what I say, it works for me.

For my group/guild, I give a discount to people.
- 1k per a weapon
- 2k per an armor part

For the public though:
- 2k per a weapon
- 3k per an armor part

Please note that as for bare-bone prices I make hardly no money to not even making any, but I feel this is more of a service to my group and helps them out.

On the other hand though, even the public prices have gotten trimed. Since I don't deam slicing as my main source of income I don't expect to get a lot out of people. Since my crazy prices, I have pushed the cost down on my server down a lot from what it used to be. Heck, I even had a nOOb come over to me and start yelling that I was under-cutting him prices though I was there first. (Funny how people get so upset in this game )

Things that can be sliced are:

- All weapons (As far as I can remeber, every weapon that was new or had not been taken to a smuggler has been able to be sliced.)

- All armor (Like weapons, all armor can be sliced though I seem to be getting a little annoeyed with composit since every time I open the slicing menu I also get the set color menu and that can get on my nerves since it is just one more window I need to close.)

- Shields, yes, that's right, shields. I do caution people doing this though since shield already do not have an encumbrance problem that since there is a ramdom pick that you could get this instead of getting a based increase effect. Though if you want to chance it, you could better your shields and get more out of them.

Well, I hope this helps and if you are ever on Bloodfin, look me up. I sell Muon Gold and Neurton Pixie for a living though I wouldn't mind making something else for someone, though it will cost you a little extra since it is more than likely outside of my operating system.

Till the Empire falls, I'll be around to be a thorn to their side!

Anyone else having this problem ... everytime I slice armor it tells me that I have a % change yet I don't notice any diff in the armor stats. It doesn't matter what type of armor I try ... NO stat change

This problem has been well discussed on these pages.

The stats will alter in the next day or so. With weapons I always make a mental note of the base dps before slicing so I can tell customers what kind of improvement has been made.

Is it worthwhile after the CU?

The reason I ask, is that I'm making an AS, and wonder if getting Master Smuggler would also be worthwhile.

Thanks.

Armor Break is a valuable defense in hunting Jedi, and Bounty Hunters would want that slice. I have found it to be an excellent complement to my Master Armorsmith, as well as something that sets me apart from other smiths. Plus you can buy Faction schems at a discount....

There's not as much demand for presliced armor now since smugglers have control over what they're doing, and most people like to pick their slices.

If you do want to slice for people, getting master smuggler will let you do the top-level slices. Plus you can buy faction for faction armor schematics, and if you're a master smuggler, you'll get a discount on the schematics.

What is best practice for this? I only really play for PvP so of course going for the AB slice, do I need to slice all the armor or would it be sufficiant to slice the chest, legs, helmet? or just chest? or does it all need to be sliced?

Also are the slicing tools hard to find? is it generally an expensive slice?

thank you.

You'd get more info from the Smugglers' forum. Try this post for starters. If it doesn't have what you need, back out to the top level of the Smugglers' forum and look at the FAQ/Stickies for a guide to slicing armor. The new system is much more complex and varied (and expensive!), so reading up on it is a must.

I'm betting you'd have to slice it all to get full armor break protection as hits are randomly distributed (well, it's not really random but head shots don't always go to the head, for example). You should start with legs, head, and chest in that order as those pieces get hit the most.
