I still stick with my suggestion of Composite, only because of the condition/decay of Ubese and Chitin. While Composte has a much higher investment, it will last much longer. A set of decent kinetic Composite runs about 200k on my server, while a good set of Ubese costs 100k and Chitin costs 50k. But both the Chitin and Ubese will decay to nothingness by the time Composite gets to 50%. The Ubese jacket will have to be replaced constantly because it protects so many areas, and only has around a 17k starting condition. The Composite bp starts around 35k condition, and only takes hits to the body.

So, either way will work as you will end up spending about the same amount (either 1 Composite set, 3 Ubese, or 4 Chitin). Yes, you will have to wear buffs to get into Composite, but I assume that you will be doing that anyways if you are going to want to level up Swordsman.

I gues it is server to server, most composite that is worth wearing on valcyn is 350-500k a set, and you can not get good composite for 200k anywhere.

So if ubese is about 1/5 the cost of composite as compared to 1/2 on your server, ubese is the way to go.

also carry some 99% armor repair kits, you say the ubese jacket goes through a lot, most are good for 3-4 repairs if you do it with the right tools

I did only use one set of chitlin for the entire pikeman grind, however, I did use a composite chest (I forgot to add that little part, forgot)

So personally with repairs I don't see you going through a lot of sets if you do it right

I'd say go Battle. I've seen padded get up to 6kish in resistance. RIS is another option but alot more expensive. I've seen most Recon armor at 4-5k max. Check the bazaar on your server to see what top quality battle armor you can afford.

A comment on your template...I assume you went the pistol line in BH to get Underhand and Confusion Shot. If you went that route for the Defense, you may want to reconsider going Pistols x4x4. The added Defense and Accuracy will complement the other abilities you will gain. Of course, this means giving up TN but you could always get some mods for that.

this is all dependant on how much cash you have and what you like fighting. for PVP go tantel (more peices than the rest to spread the damage) with energy resistant layers as jedi and most ranged are energy based attacks. and then have your battle for MOBs - decent kin and energy no real need for layers. (personally with the huge current drain on armor from conditon get yourself adks for your head, chest and legs too - they take nealy 80% of the damage anyhow)
