There is a thread on Swgcraft that has all the caps. It's calculated based on the resources available in the Swgcraft database so it should be fairly accurate.

http://www.swgcraft.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9957

Someone clicky please? The postis long and you have to really like numbers to read it...

So basically we can no longer take the simple approach and look at the combined OQ + SR when judging a resource. We have to weight the SR, and the lower the cap, the higher the weight is. You basically have to use the formula above.

Andthe crafting screen definately needs an update.

Why even have resources gated? Seems like a bunch of extra steps. Make everything 1-1000. Much simpler.

Was always a flavor issue, one would expect copper to have a higher conductivity than iron or steel. You would also expect steel to be stronger than copper.

Can you post the gates used?

Holy crap! and Thanks!

Are these based on what is possible or what has spawned so far?

Jesus H Christ.. I'd better go over my resources again with a fine tooth comb to see which just turned to crap. Hopefully most of my resource are already high in both OQ and SR, so it won't be too many. It'll be quite a headache to figure out which resource is better than another for a while now. *starts making an excel file*

I didn't make thislist, it's Lunariel from the SWGCraft.com community.

She compared all resources from all galaxies, found how low it had spawned (and with thousands and thousands of similar spawns, its pretty easy).

This IS the range as it is. It cant spawn lower or higher than this atm.

I've used "Lunariel's guide to Resource Caps" and you begin to automatically memorize things at one point.

Also, I sat down and made a complete list of resources and caps to- pre-cu - Weaponsmith Subcomponents.

The main difference now is that an iron with say 1000OQ 100SR might now be the better than one with 1000OQ 900SR (figures theoretical). Since swgcraft doesn't sort after this new way to calculate I'd have to check each and every named resource and calculate the new weighted average.. = headache.

Understatement alert!

Surely someone has "the" spreadsheet already done up.

It is rather sad when we are forced to use a out of game tool to figure out what the best resource is.

i think the crafting documentation is off.. and SR means a lot more...

cause i made some layers.. some energy and some kin using bascially the same stuff.. except the SR on the ore for the energy layers was higher.. by only 100 points.. and my energy seg came out at 90% where my kin seg was only 83% even though i used better gems in the kinetic schem..

alsoi tried some total total crap ore.. and only came 80% for an oq of nearly 800 less.. but the shock was just slightly higher.. on the crap ore.. compared to the good one..

or this all means nothing and the kin layers are not based on the same exp amounts than the energy ones..

Shouldn't crafting take some thought? I would be bored if I could travel to all 10 planets, sampling a fruit resource from each and see; this is 89% good, this is 72%, this is 33%, oh, this is 96%, better collect this. I actually have to think, and use various spreadsheets (my own and others). This is what makes resource hunting fun for me.

Crafting shoulda challenge. However we lost that battle. Crafting is just mindless drop in the best resources. Now it is just a hassle to figure out the best. To me if the game says oq 50% sr 50% and I am using a resource with an average of 850, it should be 850.

If they want to use the gates for weighting that is fine. Show it.
