can you still wear it even if your not certified?

Nope.

I am sure you could, it would just be like if you equiped an uncert weapon. The protection values would probably drop and it wouldn't be as good.

I think that this was agood and bad move. Good because it gives some professions something cool, but bad because if it only is for 4 professions, then what's to stop the whole economy from going 1 or 2 of the 4 professions. But it is kinda dumb just to go a profession just for armor.

you're a reb.... when's the last time you tried to wear stormtrooper armor? a quick skill check will determine whether or not you can put on the mandalorian.

and to all you guys who say "anyone can wear armor", in star wars different armors had different abilities. stormtrooper armor has the ability to seal itself in a vacuum, allowing the wearer to survive for a short time in order to get to safety. won't be anything like that in SWG, but its just an example. being trained to use your equipment (weapons or not) is vitally important to any combatant. armor certs are on thier way in for everyone. this is just a taste of things to come. mandalorian armor helmets have radars in them. since all players have a radar anyway, we wont see anything like this, but again, just an example. i, for one, cant wait to see a cert on composite. keep it out of the jedi's hands. hehe

AS can wear this armor

not all armorsmiths are pure crafters I am AS/rifleman....considering changing that to AS/commando or ranger, I think novice squad leader would be the least SP to get this

so don't say that AS can make it but not wear it, that is not true for all AS

I am a commando and I am glad they only made mando for commando BH SL and Ranger. I know it stinks that a master AS can't wair it. But think how Commanods BH SL and Ranger feel. Commandos have to master 5 combat skill trees plus 40K comabat exp to get aproffession that is worse then most profession that just have to master onecomat tree like Rifleman, Pistoleer, Carbineer, TKA, Fencer, Heavy swordsman and Pikeman. BH Have to master two profession and scarifice allot of skill points. A master ranger has the same problem. And SL are really hard to find so them having mando amor might boost their numbers. Weaponsmith don't have cert for all their weapons and they dont complain. They became a weaponsmith to make weapons and money you should do the same for armor!

I wholeheartedly approve of limiting the armor. I make lots of different Droids that I cant use, and while some of the specific skills chosen as requirments bother me (advertising4 for a Barker Module) the concept of professional limitations does not.

As a Mon Cal DE/Rifleman I'll still gladly go along to help make Mando armor, even though I wouldn't be certified, and even if I were, it would not fit my big fish head.

I think us Master Armorsmiths should be able to wear it, but maybe with some penalty. I mean, its kinda silly that a professional crafter of armor wouldnt be able to figure out how to put on a set of armor that he crafted himself.

Im just saying good luck finding an MAS,MT and MDE that will want to spend hours doing nothing following your group into the deathwatch dungeon when they cant evenget anything from it themselfs.

My first reaction is that I think it's awesome. Those are some of the least loved profs out there. At least now they get to look good. Maybe not the best way to give them love, but this also means it will be pretty rare.

It's called having friends. I've got three out of three right now, but one of them is considering dropping it.

Finding an MAS, MDE and MT for this will not be hard if you are in a good guild, im sure most crafters wouldnt complain about having to go along to craft a suit of armour they are going to get a third of the proceeds from. Anyway, cant we just do the death watch bunker for fun. Does everyone involved really have to gain something from this? whatever happened to the time when people would go out and do things like this for fun.
