Thread: WOOKIEES EQUAL RIGHTS!!!
For those wookies who think the armor sucks and want 90% composite, open your eyes. It isnt composite, it is wookie ubese. You might say, "But I've seen 76% kinetic ubese! My lousy ceremonial armor is only like 56% kinetic!"
Well duh. It took half a dozen-plus spawns to get Ubese to its current level (6 months at least). We've had what 1 spawn since wookie armor came out and both the wood and hide for the segments and final product have sucked (at least on my server). Give me 6 months and I bet I can get 70%+ kinetic ceremonial armor. Its not that the armor sucks, its that it hasnt had the time to get good. Armorsmiths wait weeks and even months (and for some resources have been waiting longer than that) on servers for that high quality axhidite iron, kirrium steel, and crism silicate and others. Its not magic! I got more news for you also. When the next 2 wookie sets come out (especially if they require rare resources that spawn once every two months!) they will suck as well.
Someone said that in the initiall release the composite base was in the 40s. 6+ months later we can get it to the low 70s. If wookie equivalent composite composite comes out, then initially it probably wont be any better than low 50s (Armorsmiths only collect about 20 resources and no others) and will take time to get as good as exisiting armors.
Quit complaining, lower your expectations, and get ready for mediorce armor which will become really good in about 6 months, and let us armorsmiths do our work!

Its not wookiee ubese, its wookiee chitin...big difference. If you look at the vulns of Ubese, its stun/heat/cold. Chitin's vulns are stun/heat/cold/electricity, the exact same as Kashyyykian Ceremonial.
Now, why is this a big deal? Okay, its not that big of a deal, but it does make a difference. For starters, it isnt going to hit 70%+kinetic. I suppose with perfect resources it could, but it is very unlikely to get much past 65% without armor enhancers. It also makes a big deal in that there are only 2 more sets of armor. There are 4 sets higher than Chitin (Tantel, Ubese, Padded, Composite). Now, we have to assume the next 2 sets will be better, that leaves 4 sets that it can be. Now, if Kashyyykian Ceremonial was Ubese, that would only leave Padded and Composite. So, where the armor starts makes a huge difference.
My guess is still that the next set will be Ubese and the final will be Padded. I just dont see Wookiee Composite in the near future (but Id wear it in a heartbeat if we got it!) That's not to say that Wookiees will never get Composite equal armor, but I think it will be left as a carrot down the line.
as a wookiee armorsmith nothing more then i would love to see this thread closed. its just ridiculous and gives wookiees a bad name. the guy needs to **edit** and just wait. i admit i started out armor smith fora holo but now i have kept it and i'm master armorsmith/fencer/brawler with just a tad scout 0010 so that i can pull my own hides sometimes. point being is that i have learned a ton about the prof and understand the headaches associated with making the "perfect" product. someone needs to show him what composite was when it all first started. if u had 36% resist u were doing darn good. like others have said just give it time. once resources shift and we get something that is of our normal standard i think we could get this armor to 60+ kinetic with a nice 30+ base. and that is just my guess as a standard 10 point smith
om your **edit**ing a stupid wookie i solo'd a giant dune kimoglia in that woood your talking about...do u not know about food?
DUDE GOPPLAY RATCHET AND CLANK...youll have a beter time with that
/cheer for darnok
"USEUALLY WHEN THERE'S A DISADVANTAGE TO A RACE THEY HAVE SOMETHING TO MAKE UP FOR IT THAT IS ACTUALLY WORTH MORE THAN A SACK FULL OF DEAD MICE."
As a Rodian, I have to say... mind telling us what we've been given to make up for crappy stat distribution?

There were 2 specific Wookiees in EU that wore armor: Snoova and Chewbacca disguised as Snoova. Actually, Snoova's armor was converted Mandalorian armor, but Im not going to hold my breath on getting that. Aside from those specific sources, the fabled "Wookiee Berserkers" also wore armor. Sure, it was extremely light armor, but it did offer protection.
