First, thanks to JaatoWaals for his excellent guide.
As a starting armorsmith I have couple questions:
a) From what I've read, it seems that composite armors dominate the market and there really isn't that much demand for any other type of armor. So it seems that the best way to get into "market" is to start making composite armor. Now, as a new armorsmith, my resources are somewhat limited to it seems likely that a good way to start my career would be to start producing and selling unlayered composites. But, can one make good enough unlayered composited to attract customers? Is it enough if one uses normal armor segments, instead of advanced ones? Is there really any kind of demand for these? And how the hell I'm supposed to get Beyrllius Copper if it hasn't spawned for over 30 days?
b) Just to clarify, even the OQ/SR/other stats of hides affect the outcome of the armor? Not sure why but I have this crazy idea that only the stats of inorganic-resources affect the outcome.
c) This concerns the question a. It's mentioned in the guide that it's possible to produce over 50% composite without any layers, if one uses the right resources. How good the resources should be to make that kind of armor? (I think I should use F-section of the guide in this one.. Any idea if there is a calculator somewhere which just asks the stats of my resources and then gives the likely results?)

Great guide....just have one correction to offer...the reinforced klicknick shells. Although the better ones do have stats close to those listed, they are infact segments and not enhancements...used in chitin armor. Imagine my surprise when I payed out the nose for these things, hoping to make some kickass composite, only to find that they could only be used in chitin.

Jaato- Just wondering why you say Tantel is a favefor PvP?? Most people I know use Stun weapons in PvP. Thanks!

That's because it was written almost a year ago...when encumbrance still mattered and most players couldn't walk around wearing a full set of basic composite, let alone the insane 90% stuff that later came into being. 
I'm working on some changes to the Guide. Nothing major, just several corrections and additions, including the new wookie armors. I'll add that to the list. Right now I'm out of town on a short vacation, but I'll be back in a few days and I'll post it then.

Just anxious to see the Kashyyykian Armor additions

Do we know if there will be any specific enhancements for Kashyyykian similar to the items that exist for padded, composite, etc?
I know a lot of Armorsmiths aren't interested in investing the time and money into the Kashyyykian (especially Hunting) and I totally understand! But, that is why I will be focusing on it! The 2 new Kashyyykian armors are one of the best things to come into SWG during my time here (hatched Dec. 7, 2004). These armors took a race that was nearly useless in any higher level combat content (Krayts, Vette, Death Watch, etc.) and gave them the ability to stand side by side with the rest of the community.
Even if the so-called Armor nerf hits all armors equally, at least we will know that Wookiees will still be on par with the rest of the players.

A quick question from a new Armoursmith... Is there a reason why I can't craft Tantel armour with my armour/clothing crafting tool while standing at a armour crafting station?... The draft schematic is in my data pad but nothing comes up when I attempt to craft... Please help...

I'm not an armorsmith, but was wondering if you guys could give me a link to a site that has a really good setup of pictures of all types of armor. Like pictures of what each armor and their parts look like.
Wanted to look at making a nice outfit with a few armor pieces and forgot what they all looked like...

Hi ... and thanks for a great guide ...
I have a BIG problem with the grinding macro. It works fine EXCEPT that it gives me the "simple shirt" schematic to grind

I have tried changing the schematic number ... but I STILL get the "simple shirt" schematic to grind ...
Any ideas?

This is a beautiful guide and extremely comprehensive and understandable by almost anyone...including me....I do have a question or two as I am unable to find info from players in the game or here on the boards.
In Section II-B(Making Armor) I see no mention of how or where bios are used. Is there somewhere I can go to see what is available and how they are used in the armor,,,any help here would be appreciated.

LyfeFyre: Do you mean bio tissues? If so, they can't be used in armor. Well technically you can use them in the tailor components as expected, but the stats will not show up in the armor.

your section is very useful, i am getting averages on my armor of 80%kin/76%electric/65%base after final asesembly in experimentation... however it takes a very lucky slice to get the base at 70%or above.... as far as the special segments/loot items for armor, i dont put any of them into my armor for the simple reason that you need to have the same serial number, i fyou only get 3 or 4 krayt scales it is basically useless to make a schematic for a segment since you need 1 to make the segment and that leaves 2 or 3 left over, which only makes a set of gloves or pair of pants.... they arent very useful in that sense of the armor.... the creatures that drop them dont drop alot of them, random thing... why they did this is beyond me...... for all of the armorsmiths out there, you know it is very hard to find the best resources without having to get lucky and finding them o rin some cases, you WILL have to buy them... i guess it keeps the economy the way it is... the hardest 2 resources to find, and my fellow armorsmiths know which 2 i am talking about..... KIRRIUM STEEL/COLAT IRON... i have been waiting for a hit of these for about 2months now, i think the way they(SOE) prduce spawns of materials is a little rediculous sometimes.... i swa some kirrium steel and colat iron on a vendor on naboo, not the greatest stats but i just cant buy it when it has an average MA400-500... 100k units for 500k.... sorry but i will wait for it to come out....and the colat iron is worse on most vendors, unfortunately it affects the overall quality of my segments... i wont settle for a type of resource just to make armor for people.... i might be picky about it, but i dont want to produce a product that someone will not be happy with and for the price they pay for it.... i fyou ahve any suggestions on anything i have said, please feel free to respond in any way.... i am getting bored with running missions and making money waiting for a spawn of resources i need.... any suggestions to relieve boredom is well recieved....... thanks again....

Would some one like to outline what stats you would need on your Layers / Segments to get
80% Kin
80% Blast
80% Electricity
( other sub stats doesnt matter much)
With 2 layers.
I have seen some of this created but not 100% sure what the layers would need to look like.
