Or, EVERYONE APPLY AND MAKE JOKES AND STUFF.

Seriously. Are you people TRYING to get 90% of the player base furious?
Let us consult the magic 8 ball:
"Signs point to YES"
LMAO Mine said the same thing!!!!!

I also have to defend the Devs in this situation. There is an established line of communication, you guys go to Corrs, Corrs go to Tiggs and TH, Tiggs and TH take it to the Devs. When Okram encouraged the spamming of Blixtev's PM box, he not only broke the rules but conceded that he could no longer complete his duties. I know he had valid concerns that need to be addressed and it can be very frustrating to not hear anything back, but that is not an excuse to do things your own way. I hope that the next AS Corr has the same dedication as Okram but better judgement.
Perhaps they should fire themselves due to a poorly handled sitiation in this upgrade.

Well, I applied, and I am sure many of you will think hell froze over if I get it.
2 things I will say - I will be less scolding, and will not attempt to cheapen anything with words should I get this.
You all know where I stand, and that I believe in moving forward, not clinging to the past. I also understand I will have zero support from all of you until I get results.
Then again, ANYONE who gets this position will be in the same boat, because you all lost faith that you were heard by the devs.
I will get reults, simply because I know how to deal with developers and management, and understand their need for space on the project, while balancing that with the opportune time to address issues that are in the new CURB for AS.
If picked, I will get the job done, and while you hate me now, I bet you all will learn to love me if I can get the devs to go along with what I envision for the future of AS, which is something most people don't factor in - it does nothing to unbalance the CURB.
Time will tell - we'll see how this goes and who gets it.
J/K...good luck
Lol, i doubt it - they might see me as too abrasive, which is not how I am when I represent someone else's interests. I am just a realist - NO ONE is going to be liked in this position. But, what you NEED right now is someone who understands the delicate balance between the players and the devs, and tries to find a compromise that keeps the CURB balance intact, and yet, still makes AS fun.
I understand the AS community. That doesn't mean I agree with them, but I understand them. And I know that if I can get some things done that make AS fun again, they will come around.
There is no balance. The job of the correspondent is to deflect attention from the devs, so they can say, "take it up with your profession's correspondent." That's it. Done. They are a sham of representation.
They had no say, impact, or influencein any major shift going all the way back to the holo-grind. The devs don't even ask them to gather developed, organized concepts to pass on to the devs, rather they just ask for short lists and say, "ya thanks." *pat pat*
The correspondents have said that they had seen a preview of CU and gave negative feedback to the devs, and the devs in kind launched an even different New SWG on test center that was even foreign to what the correspondents had seen.
Correspondents are a sham. Everything has been done in the ivory tower by a team that has no interest in developing a game for the players based on player feedback and evaluation, this has never happened. It's all ivory tower work.
There is a point, by applying your helping SOE continue to operate AS IS, with a sham of correspondents, and with a sham of listening to players... see prior post. You peeps don't get it. They're incompetent. We have no hope of success with a project leadership team that is completely, often demonstrated, incapable of being successful.

That's no joke, they should resign before they are fired. This GAME REVAMP is not their first screwup, this goes back to the holo-grind and all the points along the way, including dismal project planning, dismal communication, dismal community relations-feedback-evaluation, acting beyond reproach, being unethical, being underhanded and manipulative, I mean what have they done even remotely well demonstrating successful leadership?
Damne|) right they should resign. I'm not joking. And if not, fire them. Cancel those accounts, and accelerate the process.

Then, when Tiggs starts the process of getting your new correspondent, you want her to wait?Guys, none of the professions are getting the amount of communication they want, its not just armorsmiths. Funny, but all the other correspondents didn't have their constituency spam the devs with inquiries and demands.
No one else is getting F*ed as badly as the Armorsmiths... except maybe Entertainers
MY Ass still is sore from the reaming that the Entertainers have gotten. Were now CHEERLEADERS!!!!!! /INSPIRE FTW!!!! /SPIRITFINGERS

Player Correspondent Opening: Armorsmith
- Are you knowledgeable about the Armorsmith profession?
- Are you a community leader?
- Can you objectively identify relevant issues and distinguish them from simply passionate arguments?
- Do you like organizing information and corresponding with other members of a community?
The Development Team is looking for a volunteer correspondent for the Armorsmith Profession. Participation is completely voluntary and you can stop helping out at any time. We’re just looking for someone who can help us sort through the various issues for this profession.
Some things that you need to consider when applying:
- Developing online games takes a long time. Results happen with long time involvement.
- Player Correspondents should be leaders in their community and set a positive tone.
- Player Correspondents should understand the technical aspects of playing the profession and the needs of their community.
- Player Correspondents should be in touch with the communities concerns, understanding the essence of why players pursue their chosen profession.
- Please include your forum name in the letter
If this is something you are interested in, please write a short paragraph on why you think you would be a good candidate and email it to [email protected]. Please put Armorsmith Correspondent in the Subject Line. By submitting this email to us, you agree to allow us to contact you in connection with Star Wars Galaxies and agree that all correspondence with and material submitted to SOE will be the exclusive property of SOE and SOE may use such materials without limitation and in its sole discretion.
After we have reviewed the submissions, we will pick one person to be our correspondent. We will set them up with a special community title here on the forums and ask them to help highlight for us the relevant issues relating to this profession.
We will still continue to monitor the forums and read as many threads as we can. The correspondent is just to help us focus on the top issues and community concerns of the profession.
Thank you.
*Note: please make your letter the main body of the text. E-mail attached items are automatically deleted as part of our spam filter.
So tiggs, essentially you guys booted Okram2k for standing up and trying to fight for what the players wanted..... Hmmm i believe Oram2k has now just become SWG's first Martyr... He gained the trust and admiration of every armorsmith by a single action.. that action was by being HONEST with us and communicating with us... realize now.. that you have sealed the fate of this game.. it will perhaps be the shortest run game in the history of mmorpg's

Personally i wish all correspondants had the courage and guts to do what Okram2k did. When it comes down to it, if the devs were as good at actually communicating with the community as they seem to be at lying and backstabbing and completely ignoring people. Okram2k's wouldnt have been forced into taking the action they didnt desire.
I've said the same thing... QFE, and as for speaking up and courage... its also despair:
As SOE has lost its credibility to provide leadership of the SWG project, the ambivilance is effecting the success of the game, because players are losing the desire to engage - and why not, all their work of the last two years and investment in SWG has been dismissed, destroyed, and trashed with the introduction of an all NEW SWG.
- Peeps are hostile and non-supportive to SOE's efforts
- SOE can no longer rally support by the community, they are disenfranchised
- Players no longer respect exploits ingame, and just do "whatever", because they dont care to whatever degrees if they are banned, the passion for the game is gone, the desire for it to succeed is greatly deminished
- Players no longer respect forum rules, because they don't care to whatever degrees if they are banned
- Players no longer behave in ways that support the game environment, the success and enjoyment of the game, and the game sours overall
- Players give lousy word-of-mouth, promoting the decay of the playerbase, rather than organic growth of the playerbase through positive word of mouth
We're on a downhill slide friends. And the only solution now is to say "NO CONFIDENCE" to the SOE team and LucasArts, by cancelling accounts.
