I just thought I should let you guys know, the Reinforced Kliknik Shells from the Genosian caves can NOT be used in any armor, they replace the Chitin armor segments, just like it says in their description, unless there are two types of them from the Genosion caves.

Wow, What a great guide! I just made it to Novice Armorsmith today, and I was having problems, and a good deal of frustration.I wanted to try out my brand new crafting skills, by making some armor, but I couldnt make the Synthetic Cloth.I spent forever trying to find some, but I was never able to find any (Affordable that is). But I found my answer in this guide. Now i know what My next skill will be. Novice Tailor! If I had known about the cross profesion componants, I would have taken Tailor before armorsmith. At least then I could sell better clothing in my vendors. Oh well. Well, its 9 am, and time for me to go to bed. Good night everyone! Or is it Good Day?

If I have multiple characters, is that the same as having Multiple Personalities? Does that meen I'm crazy? Insanity is just a label people place on those they dont understand. Dont take another step, or the Durni gets it!

Naritus-Jerrick Dargon Merchant/Armorsmith/Tailor/Master Artisan; Bubba' Rebal Warant Officer and future Commando; Naritus-Jack-Daniels Chef; Ahazi-Master of the Wookie Shake; Kettemoor-Pistoleer/Dancer/Rebal Staff Corpral; Bloodfin-Imperial Corpral; Did I miss anyone? Only about 10 other characters!

Dear Jaato,

I dunno if you would be interested, but I made a very detailed desription of how to craft layers with all nuances etc. It is on adifferent site (swgcraft), but would be more than happy to donate it to your cause if you would want it here as well. It is under the armorsmith forum and is titled "layerology 1.01."

With respect,

This is a great guide!!

I'd suggest we add info on the types of cubes that can be added to interwoven RIS peices.

-and-

A FAQ question... For PSG's does the quality of the Master Artisan items mater.

Thanks. I'll add those two pieces of information.

With regard to the layering guide, I'll take a look at it and see if I can incorporate it into the Guide somehow.

I'm afraid I only read trough down to the resistances, but anyway:
Both Chitin and Bone armor provide special protection against blast damage.
Excuse me!? This is listed under the energy resist part.

Superb guide Jaato! Allthough I didn't like the formatting in some places, unless it is the forum acting up. For instance how a new armortype comes on the same line as the requirements for the previous. Just a cosmetic change needed though, makes for an easier read.

I'll be sure to give it a full read later on. Again, thanks for your communitywork.

I have tested this a few times. The quality of the sub-components that go into psg's do not make any difference to the results of the final product.

Hmm, I'll fix that error. And yes, it's the forum acting up. The formatting shouldn't be like that. It's very frustrating posting HTML in here, though- on the computer I'm currently working on I can't see most formating things at all!

Jaato - Nice to see you updated the bible. I still have the original one next to me every time I craft!

One thing I have noticed...

I looted some Faamba Armor Segmets (that are suppose to be used in Padded). However, when I attempted to use them, they didn't show up in my crafting window as 'useable'. Not sure if it's a known bug or not...

Hmm. I could have sworn I played around with those once and didn't notice any problems.
Are you sure they were segments and not enhancements?

Yup. Tried it this weekend. I had 2 Segments from a Faamba. Only reason I tried was I had an order for padded, and was looking for an way out. I didn't want to have to make the padded segments. The rancor ones worked as intended, but the Faamba ones wouldn't show up in the crafting window as useable.

Maybe we can get confirmation from someone - but I still have the segments.

Tried this just now to check if the devs might have done a shortcut in fixing rancor segments. They didn't. Fambaa Hide Segments work just fine to me, made this screenshot to show it. Note the bright green around the segmentslot when I got the fambaasegments selected. (The final armor turned out to be like 35% base or something with a decent coldprotection and a low blast)

If it still doesn't work for you, have you tried other types of armor? Might be something funny with your segments, I don't know.
