Rancors drop battle armor cores
What I find funny is Krayt sales are used in battle armor and Rancor hides are used in composite.

Klikniks drop advanced assault cores aswell, at least the type found at the Blueleaf temple.

Fambaas on Naboo drop stacked Standard Battle Core... and some Enhancements

Here is what I've looted so far.
Krayt = Adv. Assault cores or Scales (Battlesegment enhancer)
Rancor = Adv. Battle cores or Hides (Assaultsegment enhancer)
Voritor= Basic Battle cores or Scales (Assault segment enhancer)notpositive on this one
I also had a bunch of old loot convert to enhancers with much better stats then what I've looted post CU.
NS shards = Health bonus to recon segments (these converted to +15)
Janta hides = Health bonusto battle segments (these converted to +10)
Krayt segments converted to asssult segments with stats at 820 and rancor hide segments converted to battle segments with stats at 820.(This may be the other way around)

Great soo they are probly out there somewhere its just a matter of finding them : )
good soo now the next time complains about the new price of armor i can point them in the direction of obtaining cores to make really cheap.. yet not soo effective armor for them.. you guys are great ! ! !
Hmm maybe flampasete. or kaado, or bantha have recon... /shrug

with the price of armor throught the roof i was trying to think of was to lower it.. well loot cores are the way to do it.. i can make loot core armor for next to nothing.. soo when someone wants cheap armor i say well bring me the cores.. granted its nto as good but hey what do you want for free
anyway i know krayts drop assault cores.. so what drops the others??

I have yet to see a Core of any type and looted from any MOB that I would consider using in armor. A few have decent stats but with resources as high as they are I would rather make the best armor I can rather than just ok armor.

Are the GDKs the normal Kimos and not the great-grandfather ones? I have killed approx7 wild spawn rancors on dath and 4 of them dropped loot (2 of them dropped cores) however when I killed the bull rancors their only contribution was a large sound of a thud hitting the ground, no loot. Umm.. I may be off the subject a small fraction however is it a trend or does only the basic breeds of each of the listed creatures drop these cores. I know with the kyrat family the qualities and prizes escalate however I was frustrated as to why breeds grander than normal voritors and bull rancors did not even drop junk loot even though I am pulling an imperial detonator out of a rancor. Well that is the extent to my questioning. Thank you.

There are some good loot cores dropping out there. I got one set of really nice advanced assautl cores that not only had good protections (base on them was 5k) but the encumberance after final combine and slicing to raise the base resists. The encumberance is only 14. 14! on a 5930 resist piece of armor. That's pretty damn good compared to crafted.

Try the kimogillas, i read somewhere they drop cores, but i have yet to try them. This Ranger is busy busting his hump to loot as many adv cores off of wild rancors as he can and having bad luck at it (too many player mission rancors with way to far off levels.) Also, a funny thing I have found is that it has to be a basic Rancor that drops these cores so hopefully a basic Kimo drops another type of advanced core. I could not test the voritors because Dant was packed on Ahazi with player mission, looked like the Lion King out there!

I've seen recon cores on bazaar, but nothing higher than basic which means kinetic = 0 
I don't know what drops em but they all seem to be on Tatooine terminals.
