Thread: Official word on PSG's, lightsaber resists and anti-decay kits?

Hi Oa'kron, Sic here. A lot of jedi have been freaking out about the possibility of BH's using the anti decay kits on ls resist PSG's. Would it be possible to get an official statement from the dev's about whether or not this is an exploit? We all know they are bugged and an earlier thread indicated that the bug was that the ls resists didn't stick. However, this has all been vague enough, that no one knows for sure. While I would like the PSG ls resist to be fixed (and use my anti decay kit on it), I don't mind using the workaround of just pulling them from the crate and applying the kit before each fight. I'll do whatever I need to do as long as it's not an exploit. I just want to make sure that it is, in fact, not an exploit.

Also, the whole process of using the kit and destroying the item to get the kit back just makes me a little jumpy. So, I guess my request boils down to two questions: 1) any indication on when PSG's will be fixed and 2) failing that, is the workaround an exploit or not?

An official statement on this would go a long way towards making BH's and Jedi clearer on this issue.

from what I have heard it's not an exploit to use them on PSGs

And yes, it's bugged that the LS resistances doesn't stick.

TH,

PSG are not suppose to have lightsaber resistants, correct?? This is a bug, right? Just wanted to get that cleared up.

Actually, they are. It was part of Jedi Archives 3 and Im working with the team to get this looked at.

That was Pre-Pub 9 when Jedi could wear armor and lightsabers were kinetic damage.I wouldn't put much stock in it now. Jedi Robes were susposed to be the "equal" of comp armor too.

As for it being bugged, if the PSG doesn't have LS resists after you logout and back in, then it doesn't have it. Using the "trick" of pulling a new one out of the crate and getting it is an exploit...kinda like the 40k HAM bikes or the selfhealing bike trick was.

Your quoting thunderheart from july 8th 2004. its now feb 13th 2005. Around the same time in 2004 jedi were supposed to get thier composite equivelant robes. dont you think its kinda convienient you didnt get ls resist shields and we didn tget our robes at same time. do the math. as stated in development threads are not fact. they are proposals and subject to change as they almost always do

There has never been an instance where the devs have claimed this was a bug. As for the bike "trick" the devs have stated this was an exploit.

I have said before, the issue of PSGs is going to be fixed in CURB. When armor gets the all them changes and stuff... PSGs had been bugged a long time ago, along with tantel, with shifting resistances when it's equiped and you go across server lines. Oddly enough they both have the proven to be bugged with the LS resistances.

Anyway... no dev has said either way as far as I know, except for way back when, which I believe was right after the LS resistances was introded. I'm going to step out on a limb and say that I think they where supposed to have LS resistances, but suffer from the stat shifting bug that plagued PSGs for so long until their fix about 9 months or so ago.

Why cant Jedi wear PSGs and armor if people have resistance against their damage types? Thats pretty unfair. Sliced PSG with 60% LS resists and tantel armor with 30% LS resists or whatever will make it impossible for someone to lose to a Jedi.

I love how people one star information they don't like. It seems to be indicative of the maturity level of certain folks. Anyhoo, I've got some PSG shopping to do. Cheerio.

Speaking of the CURB, Okie, has Alpha testing started yet? Can you even tell us if it has?
