I would question the choice of blast layering.
The biggest consumers of this type of armor are actually more liable to be Nightsister Hunters -- gating the blast resistance at 80% will cause them to take twice the damage that they would with 90% effectiveness against blast for those sisters with power hammers.
If you've got the resources to do it, I would go with electric, heat, or cold layers. Electric layers would be my top choice, since you wouldn't be shifting any resists from effectiveness to special protection, but copper and siliclastic ore spawns can be rather funky. Personally when I've done this, I've done it with heat or cold layers. Heat and cold damage are fairly rare in PvE.

I do not like the silicilate ores, we havent had a good one forever (the best in recent memory is like 900 oq 200sr)
also, as far as I know I was the only major smith selling blast armor on Valcyn, catering mainly to the FS grinding grenade throwers, and business was quite good. I would say 80-90% of them wanted encumberence slices, and that is why I was thinking about this line

first off Valcynites don't steal my idea till it hits the vendors lol, after that I don't care
I was thinking about making armor that was something like this.
80% blast
4-9% stun
71% base
and here is the thinking: I want to preslice everything. The profit margin on preslices is really good, while I could make 30k per peice selling it regular (just a number I through out there) , with presliced you can make 100-400k per piece for those 90% base peices
so...all the effectiveness slices are priced accordingly (better profits) both kin and energy can be sliced to 90%
and the drawback is usually no one want the encumberence sliced stuff and you have to sell it really cheap, but.....the hologrinder/grenadier types love blast damage and eat up encumberence sliced blast armor
what do you think? anyone else have suggestions or other stuff you do?

You got great polymer and copper right now in Valcyn. The copper is SW stuff but for layer doesn't matter. I also check your silicalatic ores. You had a great shift about 171 days ago of SW stuff. Just wait until you can get good SW silicalastic ore as they are not gated at 600 SR like old silicalastic ore. I checked your resources and you can easily make 71% base electrical layers stuff. Which will requires only a 27%-28% slice to get 90% base. You only need a 13% slice to get 80% base. Electrical layer armor is also lighter because copper and silicalastic ore has very high Mal.
On an average factory run for me of 50 mini suits I get about 20% of my armor at 90% and the other 30% is 80% or better. Then the rest is encubrance sliced pcs. I throw an encumbrance slicedsuit a day on the bazaar to help out noobies here and there
. I hate the fact that people are not educated about armor enough to know that even at 70% resist and fully buff you can tank abunch of animals out on Datooine, Endor and Lok without any problems. And you would save a huge amount of cash.

Kinda risky IMO, I mean NS will either whip out a PH maybe 1 out of 5 times. The stun pro is defintaly a good idea though.
IMO, drop the blast special effect and up the stun(i dont know if you can do this, I'm new to AS'ing).

One of my favorite NS hunting armors is my "NightHunter" Composite -- 27% Stun / 71% Base. Slice it up to 90% for maximum fun. Combined with a few PSGs that II rotated in and out,my swordsman hassuccessfully tanked stun baton-wielding Elders without much of a scratch on numerous occasions.

I sellpre-sliced 4% stun/80 el/70-71% base -1 stun layer, maxed base, then enc.; and 2 electric layers, made same way . This armor has medium HAM , mind on helm is under 300, and I sell 90% slice chest plate for 600 k for a peace. I sell enc. sliced armor (10-30k) in special vendor, barking about sale, and FS gringerstell me they like this vendor
Also I make 24% stun/80%el/70base - 3 stun layers , I hope it'll be 26-27% stun with new Iron we have. I'll try to play with stun layers more - use 1 base stun and 2 13% stun layers - to get 90% base and max possible stun without Janta or so.
90%base+ some stunarmor is good for NS elder nunters - my husband solo them every day EASY , using this armor+ PSG. I evenhad toput "Crystals" vendor- to sell his loot
I made some blast armor- but it seems to me too heavy, I'm old fasioned AS and don't like too much HAM.

maybe you all didn't understand
most high base armor that is sliced for encumberence doesn't sell at all and is sold cheap as all get out
yes 90% blast is good, but what I am trying to do is sell BOTH the encum and eff sliced stuff
usually if I did elec layers, the eff stuff sells, the enc is hard to push

I sell a ton of blast both eff and encumb sliced esp my 80% elec 80% blast 90% base stuff, with NS elders in particular if they pull a 2 handed weapon like a hammer its about like them pulling a stun batton you run

Good stuff Skinny. I've sold an absolute ton of this stuff in unsliced full suits.
80blast 80elec 5stun 71base and ham pools in the 600-700 range.

Why exactly does 80% blast with encumberance slices sell more as opposed to 80% electric, heat, or cold?
I'm not quite understanding that.
80% blast with enc slices is highly desireable for FS grinders throwing grenades (need the blast at 80%)

I have kind of a dumb question but, are people using grenades to grind xp hurting themselves also when the grenades lands on the MOB's. As like an area effect damage that hits everything?
