I'm hoping this Wookiee armor is only gonna be wookiee craftable like the bow caster. Any info as far as stats/Materials/Craftable by who? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance,,GOOSEBOROK

I have been requesting the information you are asking about but as of yet it hasn't been released to me. That's not too surprising, seeing as they only announced it last week.

With regard to Wookie-only craftable, that's something else that's still unknown. However, I have noticed that the vast majority of armorsmiths on this forum are more in support of a all-armorcrafter craftable armor, similiar to the way wookie clothing is done, rather than a wookie-only craftable armor. As a result, until I hear more than one or two voicesto the contrary, that's the position I'm going to support.

Naw, let the non Wookiees make it too. As it is, its hard enough to find a decent bowcaster...it would be much easier if it was craftable by all.

This issue of wookie-only craftable has been around since the announcement. The main reason it has been said to be supported has been "to keep the wookieraceunique'. While I am in support for uniqueness, it would also make wookie armorsmiths overpowered (is that possible in crafting?). And lead to lower supply, and much higher prices for all the wookies who will want it.It would be unfair/overpowered comparedto all the other armorsmiths, who have no ability to craft a race-specific armor of their own. Besides, by JUST having a wookie only armor anyway, the wookies will maintain their'unique' looks, that noother race has, and something all the other races would probably love to have.

If any non-wookie armorsmith had a good reason to support wookie armorsmith only craftable armor, I would be interested in hearing it, cause it seems that all the people who want it that way are the ones that stand to gain the most (monetarily speaking) from it being exclusive.

Sure, make wookie armor only craftable by wookies. But to make it fair, remove their ability to make composite. They can't wear it, why make it?

It's all about balance. Wookies want it all.

If wookies want to pay a fortune for their (probably crap) armor due to there only being a handful of wookie armorsmiths on their server I DON'T CARE. All it means is that I can focus on making Ubese and Composite without having to deal with the whiny balls of fur and teen angst. I honestly don't care either way, it would almost be worth not learning a new armor to see the tears when wookies are charged 500k for basicallyUbese quality armor.

Think about it, the price will be inflated anyway due to a decreased market size. And you guys want it to only be craftable by wookies? They could charge whatever they want as demand would far outweigh supply.

If it is craftable by everyone I predict that every AS will make a few suits out of interest and for friends, then will go back to focussing on comp, with a small percentage doing regular runs of it. If it's only craftable by wookies, it's the only armor they will ever get the chance to craft due to the constant demand. Have fun with that.

I have seen the light about the wookiee armor being craftable by all smiths... Makes it common place then...

But they will have a harder time crafting to fit our HAMs than they do for the other races that get the normal armors... Where as a wookiee Smith can say this is my Racial Maximum and this is what I can do with my Stats in this game...

As a Wookiee Armorsmith I have a goal to make sure each full suit is wearable right of the box....

Granted this is a Nich maket... But I almost think that the Mastersmiths who have been around for months probablly will not gear up all that fast just to fill orders for less than 1/3 of the population... Sure they might make a few suits depending on the resouces they use... But I doubt that they will use it to replace their Markets of Composite or Ubese... But they are currently making a bunch of money off of people just from those two armor sales...

But as a Wookiee and an Younger Armorsmith I am seeing the wookiees as my target audiance.. I plan the day it goes live to get a vendor up labled Wookiee Armor and if I end up no longer making composite then thats fine with me.. no need to fuss to much with it..

But I will not give up my ability to make composite like the Person above me is saying... With a post count and a registration date as low as that I would not be making comments like the ones you have... Nice way to start yourself off in the fourms...

I was making a point dude, that most of the arguments for wookie-only crafting were poorly thought out and based on greed. Tell me, how many non-wookie smiths supported the idea?

I am seriously amazed at your postcount comments though. What, my opinion doesn't count? Because I have a low postcount I don't know what I'm talking about? Funny how the "vet" now agrees with the "newb" in relation to wookie-only crafting.

My postcount says nothing about me. Your thinking that postcounts matter however, speaks volumes.

FYI, I was around during beta 3, left, and have come back for a go before the SE hits. I have maintained a constant eye on how the game has been going in my absence. You make too many assumptions.

Well i have to say this it has nothing to do with greed. What it has to with is wookie being unique and staying true to story line.I have been an armorsmith since day one, and a wookie, I have pleanty of cash I sell 80% kinetic 74% Electricity 66% base all unsliced for less than 300k for a full suit on Sunrunner. My post has nothing to do with greed all i wanted was information

I see both sides of the issue.

I think that the idea of wookiees only crafting wookiee-only armor makes sense, in the fact that wookiee armor would seem to me more of a traditional armor, passed down through families and such. I know this is a horrible parallel, but its like asking thepilgrims to make annative american'straditional uniform.

I for one, don't know any other wookiee armorsmiths on my server, so the idea of a wookiee-craftable-only armor sounds quite frightening, and almost makes me want to leave the game for about a month until more wookiees start lowering the demand. While there is a lot of money to be made by me, there is much to lose (my sanity)

I would like to see them put in a different way....by a *gasp* quest *gasp*....

Make armorsmiths (wookiee and non-wookiee alike) do a simple crafting quest to learn more about the armor before we get the schematics. I don't like the idea of logging on and being like "oooo....guess i learned how to make this armor overnight...." It dosen't have to be anything big, complex, or to difficult/annoying(NOT LIKE RIS). If you are going to put a traditional suit of armor in for the wookiees,no one should "get" it....it should be learned from someone who knows...give us some storyline or some way of learning about it from an NPC wookiee...its an easy way to start adding content. Make it craftable by everyone (assuming the know how to comprehendShyriwook).

I am amazed by how many people arefighting about this though....I wonder if this would happen in the weaponsmith forumif they made the bowcaster actually worth making....

Give each other some credit, and don't cast the first stone calling people "greedy"....perhaps people want there to be some continuity in SOEs ideas, like with the other traditional wookiee items (bowcaster)

That's all we need, to have waited this long for amor only to be held hostage by a few greedy Wookiee armorsmiths for even longer.

right

If a wookiee cant find a wookiee weaponsmith to make a bowcaster he can go to a non-wook and buy several OTHER KINDS OF RIFLES. (lol and most of em will be better guns 'cause bowcasters SUCK)

so will you people PLEASE stop comparing them to wookiee armor?

it aint the same thing

and yeah I'm getting a little sick of having to listen to the RP'ers every time anything gets done in this game that doesnt meet their narrow-minded approval.

make it wookiee-only and I'll grind armor-smith and get crazy rich off of million-credit suits of armor while I'm perfecting my own

I have the resources.

but I sure as hell dont wanna have to do it

and what about all the other wookiees who dont have the time/resources?

this is a crap idea put forth by jealous non-wookiees and avaricious wookiee AS's and it's time for it to die.

I am wookie armorsmith, have been making armor since day 1. I have learned that price gouginghurts you in the long run. So depending on resources, I don't see it costing any more than composite.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that 'continuity' in this game went out the window already?
