Thread: Stat shift bug- assistance needed

I need some help from the community. I need hard data, so you need to actually report from experiences you have from this point forward, not things that you remember (since everyone's memory, including mine, is sometimes unreliable).

Here's what I need: a list of the armor types that have exhibited the vuln shift bug and which vulnerabilities you've observed for that armor type. For example, you can list "Tantel" and say I've observed the following vulnerabilities at some point "Acid, Heat, etc." List all the vulnerabilities you have observed cumulatively- i.e.: if the piece is vulnerable to everything, say "vulnerable to everything". I just need to know which vulnerabilities each of the shifting armor types has exhibited.

In further news, it has been reported that RIS should no longer shift. Any evidence to the contrary would be greatly appreciated.

My question actually goes to vulnerabilities- which vulnerabilities have you seen?

What you are experiencing is resist degradation through decay. That's basically the item working as intended. As the item blocks damage, it decays. A PSG can wear out very quickly in a high-damage situation (on the order of a few minutes against Mob's that do 1k of damage per strike).

I have a set of Tantel armor that I've made and placed in my shop specifially to monitor the stat shifting.

In the past 24 hours, I have seen the following effective resist templates (all have energy as the special protection):

  • Restraint Only

  • Kinetic, Blast, Restraint, Heat, Acid, Electricity (vulnerable to Stun and Cold)

  • Blast, Stun, Restraint, Heat, Cold, Acid, Electricity (vulnerable only to Kinetic)

  • No vulnerabilities

  • Stun, Restraint, Heat, and Cold (Vulnerable to Kinetic, Blast, and Acid)

Any way we can get an answer as to what the intended resist templates of PSGs and Tantel are supposed to be, at any rate?

ADDENDUM: My Tantel boots just shifted vulnerabilities. Now they are vulnerable to kinetic, restraint and heat. Guess that blows the whole "restraint never shifts" thing out of the water.

I currently have 3 crates of the Imperial Prototype PSG with identical serial numbers, with Special Protection for Energy, which has never shifted.

One is only vuln. to Kinetic.
One is vuln. to Kinetic, Restraint, and Cold.
One is vuln. to Restraint, Heat, Cold and Electricity.

Regardless of these markings on the crate, when I first pull a PSG out, it's always vulnerable to Kinetic, Blast, and Acid.

3 PSGs that I have, out of the crate and have shuttled with, currently have these vulnerabilities:
1. Kinetic, Stun, Restraint, Heat
2. Kinetic, Restraint, Heat, Cold
3. No vulnerabilities

EDIT : Ok, I just shuttled, with the same 3 PSGs and 2 fresh ones from crates. Now these are the vulnerabilities:
1. Blast, Cold, Electricity
2. Kinetic, Heat, Cold
3. None
4. Stun, Restraint, Heat, Cold
5. None

So between them all, they've been vulnerable to every type of damage (except the Special Protection to Energy)

I did some shuttle hoping with 2 PSG's Mk1'swhich are supposed to grant protection to ALL damage types. One I have had in my inventory for a while (I will refer to this one as "PSG1") and one I created just for my limited testing, it will be refered to as "PSG2".

Dunno if this is what you are looking for Jaato, but here goes...

At log in here are the stats on PSG1.

Condition: 1636 / 2278

Special Protection: Energy %8

Effectivness: Blast, Stun, Restraint, Heat, Cold, Acid & Electricity: %13

Vulnerabilitiys: Kinetic

At creation, here are the stats on PSG2.

Condition: 2378/2378

Special Protection: Energy %10

Effectivness: Heat, Cold, Acid & Electricity: %10

Vulnerabilitiys: Kinetic, Blast, Stun, Restraint.

(From here on out I will only report the new Vulnerabilities...aka the "shift")

Shuttle Hop: New Hope to Coronet

New PSG1 Vulnerabilities: Restraint & Acid

New PSG2 Vulnerabilities: Stun, Restraint & Cold

Shuttle Hop: Coronetto Theed

New PSG1 Vulnerabilities: Cold

New PSG2 Vulnerabilities: All but Restraint

Shuttle Hop: Theed to Kaadara

NewPSG1 Vulnerabilities: All but Restraint

New PSG2 Vulnerabilities: None (Protected against all)

Shuttle Hop: Kaadara to Moeina

NewPSG1 Vulnerabilities: Blast, Restraint, Heat & Acid

New PSG2 Vulnerabilities: Blast, Stun, Heat & Cold

And if you are passing this along to someone who does not know....

The protections under "Special Protection" never shift under ANY armor. In the case of the PSG, Energy is a constant. On a odd note (which I have posted before) my speeder bike armor never shifts and is always protected against everything, the only difference is that it's AR 0.

I am willing to continue testing for a bit in live, if this is what you are looking for...and if not, well...at least I just killed an hour of my time waiting for my buddies to jump online for UT2004.

I posted about some issues I was having with a recently purchased Personal Shield Generator. When I initiallysaw it, the vendor listed it as 33% vs. Energy, and 43% vs. all other types, with a stat of 2000+/2200+ for wear (sorry, can't remember the exact wear numbers, but it was nearly full, and in the 2000's). Thus I grabbed it right off, despite its high cost.

Since then I've experienced several shifts, unfortunately I didn't record all those shifts. I was able to use the psg effectively upon occasion, after equip/unequipping it. However, it did consistently show the following stats yesterday while I was on, despite many efforts to equip/unequip it. 0/2200+ wear, and exactly half of all the stats: 16.5% vs. Energy and 21.5% vs. all other types. I didn't test it in combat, but it didn't look like it would be too effective, if at all, with those stats.

The only question left is are these "half" stats what oneusually sees if the wear has zeroed out on a PSG or armor? If so, where did that 2000+ of wear suddenly disappear to after only a few hours of use? Or is this yet another aspect of the stat shift bug?

Anyway, I hope the exact stat changes I've listed here will be helpful in tracking down and repairing this bug.

Suppose I will stop now unless this IS actually helping you out Jaato. Oh, and nobodys vehicles suffer from the "shifting" stat bug...maybe its because they are all coded in at %30 / %25 until they start to decay badly? Or maybe its just because they are vehicles and on a different code? But I figure armor is armor.....right???

Great guys, that's exactly what I wanted. I ran some tests of my own. I just needed to establish that sometimes the PSG's and Tantel were vulnerable to everything but Energy and Restraint.

You're right about the name 'shifting stat bug' not being a good description of the problem. I try to call it the 'shifting vuln bug' but it looks like I forgot here.

I have MANY examples in my vendor of PSGs with shifted stats. There seems to be no pattern to it. All of the imp prototype PSGs I have have the exact same serial number and all have different stats. I have probably 200 of the PSGs left from the last run. I rather not post stats for all of them. And for sure they would have different stats tomorrow.
