Thread: inspiration buffs
But it is better than nothing and I plan to take full advantage of it.
1) XP gain
2) Faction Point gain
3) Crafting Success

I just tested the inspiration buffs on Test Center and this is what I found.
Master Dancer:
Inspiration Buff is 10% for 3 hours
Novice Entertainer (with NO extra skills):
Inspiration Buff is 10% for 2 hours
I just lost all reason to keep Master Dancer on my alt.

I am also concerned that even if they remove the recursive macros, we will not lose buff bots as they no longer need to flourish AT ALL, so no need for a macro. Exisiting buffbots are already masters, and thus this will mean that up and coming entertainers will do lesser buffs (time wise) and thus get no xp as the 'masters' (how a buffbot can display that title and live with themselves i don't know) will do longer and thus get the attention.
Humans are creatures of habit and if they went to buffbots before will continue to do so (well at least the majority will - assuming they come to the cantina at all with the changes to BF and mind).
Not trying to complain, just posting a real concern of mine.
I agree that people are creatures of habit, and will continue to go to the buffs for awhile. But, I'm optimistic that this will change, slowly but surely, for two reasons.
First, a good portion of these bot owners are going to realize that having an extra account for the sole purpose of small percentage buffs is not going to be worth it. You'll see them start dropping. After all, these buffs are not our mind buffing replacement. They are our mind wound replacement. And, if you think about it that way, how many people are going to pay for the sole purpose of having an afk mind wound healer. It just doesn't make sense. The cost outweighs the benefit.
Second, populations of games come and go. As more new people purchase and play the game, these noobs are going to be able to be conditioned to go see live entertainers, and not the bots. Because, quite frankly, we actually have the advantage now. So what if they're on 24/7. Why would a noob make a special trip to a buffing house, or go see that buffbot in the Coronet Cantina when there's a live person there greeting and talking to them?
The tables have turned. And, while, yes, I detest most of this combat upgrade, I'm not going poopoo on everything when not everything is bad. And, one of the things that is really good about this CU, is that we have the advantages now--the 24/7 thing is really quite low on the scale of desirability for these inspiration buffs. I think people are going to care more about people actually entertaining them.
And of course all the bots shared will stick around... the ones used for lots ect. And then once our new fully AFKable buffs or what not come around next year more bots will show up to do those.... but at least a few of them will leave between now and then.

Yes Bots will drop either dancer or musician or both and just keep Ent. While picking up Doc so that they can AFK buff everything.
I dunno. I just don't see it that way. I mean, let's say they did drop to novice only and pick up doc to buff. Still, the logistics don't make it worthwhile. For one thing, they'd have to be in a house, not a public Cantina. We gain the patronage of thenoobies because of this. Secondly, yeah, doc bots will always exist, but they aren't nearly as common as entertainers because you gotta deal with resources, restocking, droid batteries, and then cycle through doc buffing and dancing? It just doesn't seem worth it. Especially, when people will be able to so easily get it elsewhere, and these new doc bots will need a BE to provide them with the bots. I'm not saying it won't be done, or that it's impossible. I'm just saying, that I just don't think most people are going to think it's worth it.

Well, my views of course are under the assumption that this elite thing we get will be advantageous to ATK entertainers. Again, not saying I even believe that it will happen. But, if it does, then entertainer bots most assuredly will fade out of existence.
