Thread: What does an AS need to make uber-armor?

I know next to nothing about crafting armor, so Ihope this question doesn't sound TOO stupid:

Let's say I have a ton of creds and I want to have an AS craft me the uberest armor a Wook can wear so I can slap my ADKs on it.

Is there anything out there for Wooks that trumps Kashyyykian Hunting Armor? Sliced Katarn armor, perhaps?

And if Kashyyykian Hunting Armor trumps all, what components does an AS need to make the best possible suit? GDK scales? Anything else?

I just want to know what I can provide to an AS to help with the production.

Thanks for the info,

once the bug is fixed nightsister layers and shards, lots of them. you will also have to determin how you want the suit layered, energy/kinetic etc etc.

Thanks for the reply.

Who do you loot those shards/layers off of? NS Rangers? Stalkers? I never seem to get squat off them besides creds.

Also, what kind of stats am I looking for in these pieces? What's ideal?

it's random as to which drops them just as anything else. i would say anything from +8 health to +20 health per layer. i think a full suit maxes out at +350 though i could be wrong.

what you will need is this.....about 80 million credits to buy 20 resource deeds. most of the materials needed are either extinct or of such low quality you are happy when it turns up yellow in the crafting window.

Main idiotic required resources almost totally unavailable(even in horrible stats):

Gravitonic Fiberplast

Perovskitic,Phrik,Link-Steel Aluminum (these are actually the easiest to find)

Nabooian Britsley hide (I once found a total of 61 units in the entire galaxy, at about 40-600 stats)

Neutronium Steel

Chromite,(I forgot the energy layers one: Atlantium or something similar) Carbonate Ore

Berylius copper

Good luck...you will need it.

Meuw gave the best advice.... simply to address your question the answer is uber resources and some time to read to and experiment to figure out what you are doing. Lots of time actually. It's best if you collect resources for about 6 months prior to grinding this professions if you would like to make that kind of armor you are interested in. Unless you can cheat and buy resources like using the deeds etc....that always speeds up the process, but not the knowledge of the actual crafting.

Oh, but you see, I'm not an AS. I'm just good at hunting stuff, so I wanted to see what I could hunt that would drop top-quality stuff to give to an AS to use. I just want to eliminate(as much as possible)the middleman of making the AS go shop for components. If I could just dump a slew of shards/layers in his/her lap, it might speed up the production time and/or lower the price.

And since I'm grinding RIfle/Combat XP anyway, it seemed like a good way to kill two birds with one stone.

Doh! I missed that in the post lol. Best thing I like is for people to hunt hides I need after AS for two years

A particular armorsmith will be able to make wookie armor with exactly the same protection stats as he/she makes their non wookie armor. The only difference will be the condition since this is defined by the final combine and all wookie armor final combines use endor wood that the armorsmith might or might not have. If you are going to adk it, then condtion doesnt really matter to you.

There is no such thing as uber armor anymore really. Go find a smith who can make high stat capped armor in the category you want and ask them to make you a suit of wookie armor. Health enhancers do not work currently, and there is no mention of them being fixed in pub 21 release notes so it could be several months before they are fixed,so little point in collecting the loot suggested unless you are happy to wait several months before getting your suit. Hence you choice is really getting the best protection wookie armor you can to suit the combat you intend to do.

If you answer the following questions I might be able to help further.

1. What elite combat professions do you have, i.e. do you want to wear assault, recon or battle armor. There is a wookie armor style for each category.

2. What type of protection are you most interested in? very high energy only, or very high kinetic only, or fairly high kinetic and energy. Your choice in 1 above will have a bearing on this.

maxing the stats on armor is one thing, with goood to great resources almost any smith can max those out. the only way to make armor "different" or better is to add the +health bonuses from nightsister or krayt but nightsister is better. making a maxed out suit is not the hard part, doing one up by hand almost the entire way and customizing it is another. since you will be ADking these you wont have to worry about buying the suit more than once so the health mod wont be wasted.

maxing a suit out is a whole different matter.

based on my servers pricing for example a maxed out suit of RIS goes for about 10-12 million right now. The same suit with +350 health sells for 30-40 million. Normal armor maxed out with layers maybe 800k-1m with health bonus 4-5m

it may only be +350 to health but it still rides on top of buffs, village crystals, food, spice etc. That is the ONLY definition of "uber" armor post CU outside of adding in AA's which is not the smith's job.

Nabooian Bristley Hide

Dantooine Wooly Hide

Lokian Leather

Any hide with very high OQ and SR will fetch you decent prices

Also any high OQ/SR bone is somewhat useful

Avian Bone is still a unique requirement but only for Tantel armor which is not in too high of demand.

And here is another list which may help make you some serious cash..I pay 100k max per adv. battle core bundle. Little less for recon and assault. But I normally buy any core bundles.

:

Assault Armor Segment and Cores:
Brakaset, Krayt Dragons, Klikniks, Sharnaff

Battle Armor Segment and Cores:
Nightsisters (TBC), Voritor, Fambaa, Kimogila, Rancor, Gorax

Reconnaissance Armor Segment and Cores:
Krayt Dragons

Assault Armor Enhancers:
Rancor, Kimogila

Battle Armor Enhancers:
Fambaa, Krayt Dragons, Nightsisters, Janta

Reconnaissance Armor Enhancers:
Nightsisters, Sharnaff

Core Enhancers:
Acklay (unconfirmed)

Appearance Enhancers:
Peko Peko Albatross, Acklay

RIS Appearance:
Giant Dune Kimogila, Woolamander Harrower, Reclusive Gurk King
