it works out so that 10% of the damage NOT blocked is taken away from the condition. So you're better off with higher resists.

This doesn't hold up always though, because currently if something has a vulnerability to a resist it registers that as no condition loss.

So if you want to get really technical, you might be best of with interwoven bone gloves, that use a really good green geo cube to add lots of condtion to it.

What then could I expect to see asthe Special and Base Resistances of a piece made like this? And does this function as its supposed to, that is, should I expect to see this function in the same way post-rebalance, or just go foruber-condition comp?

To be honest, I'd think you'd be best off with Interwoven R.I.S. with 80% kinetic and vulns to acid, stun and lightsaber, rest at 90%.

Use green cubes, and NS Shards if you can, to try get 50k-60k condition and a low HAM [0 0 0 is possible]

Though I expect Composite would be a cheaper and good alternative.

why even put it in armor? put it in a belt, find an acklay hide and get a padded belt with 50k condition made or stick it in a prenerf mabari belt with no condition and hope they don't add hp

or....put it in RIS gloves that have green cube for higher condition or krayt gloves that have very high condition (I have 60k condition composite gloves)

Found a mabari with 1 slot and conditionless that'll take an AA, but ugly as sin. Looking for a better one atm, we'll see what happens.

Looking into Krayt gloves with huge condition barring that 40k cond comp gloves sliced for max resists. The RIS/bone glove approach has been considered, and the risk of the devs making vulns count as "passed" damage, and therefore damage to the condition, feels too high.

Padded belts have not been brought up before. Are beltssomething that rarely / never get hit?

Belts have not been nerfed yet (unless it happened last week). Ubese shirts and bandos have been, but as of a few days ago, mabari belts still crafted conditionless.

As far as an armor piece, a composite bracer or bicep with 80elec/90base and condition as high as you can get it would be ideal as an affordable approach. Due to the commoness of kinetic damage, I would not recommend using RIS since the 80% kin cap will kill you. The best piece might be an exceptional krayt seg composite piece sliced to 90 base (incl elec) stun vuln.

[This started in a "LTB" thread on my server's galaxy trade, but it seems more appropriate here as we've gotten into the philosophy of smithinga bit, and as a customer, I might gain more insight by hearing from the whole AS community rather than just dumping my ignorance on the two talented and helpfull smths that have offered their expertise there.]

The task:

To identify the best armor atributes for high-end AA placement.

My main question:

Would a 40% 20k condition composite piece be aworse choice than selecting a piece with much lower resists (single figure %)and a condition in the low 10k range?

The reason:

I am seeking advice on the kind of armor, style and attributes, in which to place a +25 Pistol Speed AA (and possibly others as they are obtained). The object of a piece that will recieve such a rare SEA would obviously be longevity at the cost of all else.

My ignorance is in how to go about selecting an armor piece that will be appropriate for this task. Obviously, a less targeted piece like a bicep or bracerwould be ideal, I would like to keep the debate away from the particular piece. Instead, I want to focus on the base philosophy of the armor's attributes.

For example:

All other things being equal, wouldnt a 40% base, 30k condition piece theoretically last as long as a 4% base, 3k condition piece? Thereby, wouldnt a 4% base, 9k condition piece last three times as long as a 40% base, 30k condition one?

My thinking at this stage is to find an exceedingly low base armor pieceto which a looted condition-only enhancement can be applied, and have it experimented for condition and HAMs only, finishing experimentation with unspent points if need be.

Thanks all!

my question to you is what you plan on fighting once you have this in place, pvp or pve and even then what will be your main target

The AA I already have is a +25 Pistol Speed. To this I would also add possibly ranged defense, rangedacuracy and dodge AAs as needed &/or as slots were available (unless I find them in CA format, of course).

I would likely be doing mainly PvE vrs higher end MOBs. As a TKM / Master Pistol / Master Smuggler, I am an interesting case in that I can wind up fairly equally in Ranged and Melee combat, but I'd likely carry an additional piece for times I am switching to VKs.The biggest thing I take on with my guns is the NS Elder. Most mid- to upper-lvl MOBs get my knucklers. I do spent time in Factional PvE at range witha pistol drawn.

I also dabble in minor PvP, usually unbuffed duels. As I generally RP, these are often done in "street clothes"- thus the wish for gloves over bicep/bracer, as I stated in my other thread.

Hope that helps.

Actually, no.

The higher a piece's resistance, the slower it decays (bar vulnerablities).

For example, I made a 80% Electric 90% Base bicep, with 3 0 6 HAM and 41k condition for SEA use.

Justapilgrim,

Hmm...last time I made armor with krayt comp segments, everything was in base, not special (except stun and LS, of course). Therefore, as Darthbock stated earlier, it can all be sliced to 90% assuming it's a really good krayt segment. ...unless something has changed in the past couple days that I am not aware of.

Perhaps you were thinking of Krayt Scales?

I really think your best "easy" option is a high "Base Effect" Krayt Comp Segment with good Integrity for high condition. I've seen some pretty nice ones before.
