Thread: Just wondering How many of your Veteran Master AS will quit if they nerf your comp to garbage?

I know for one, that if the development team feels they need to take all the work ive done for the last few months and make my armor complete crap, and my resources ive been collecting for months useless. I will instantly drop armorsmith and let the noobies go back to buying chitin off the bazzar. I dont think by nerfing armor across the board its going to balance anything, armor was one of the only things you could customize in pvp that would either make or break you. There is alot more to composite than 80% kinetic 55% base cookie cutter armor. Alot of math and alot of experimenting has lead to the 90% base 26 % stun comp you see out there. And its not something everyone wears. I think this is the worst thing that will happen in this rebalance by far, and I dont even want to bring up the fact that they are nerfing us with a double stick by making our top customers (jedis) never able to wear armor again, as soon as they make it available to everyone in the game to dabble in jedi. I mean what gives, did someone rip of TH on an armor deal? This will probably get me to quit the game, and just play battle field vietnam. It shows a complete disregard for the players that have taken the time to work this hard. I will not continue to pay for them to kick me in the nuts on a whim.

I won't people will still need armor. Also, don't you find suits of 90% to be ridiculous?

Completly im a Master commando with 70% comp (can't afford the 90% stuff....yet) and blance wise how does that make an inch of sense? It'll become that 50-60% will be 'uber' armour when it comes to comp, and in the mean time you guys might sell some of the other armours too, which hopefully will become worth while when u use their advanced layers. I fail to see how this re-balance, if its done right will be a bad thing for amour crafters, plus seeing Jedi running around in full comp, no score that 70% of the games population running around in full comp is just plain dumb.

I agree with the last 3 posts. If u want to drop armorsmith or leave the game cause of the rebalance, be my guest and take the rest of ppl that keep whinin about it with u. It just means more business for the rest of us. 90% comp is ridiculous anyway. Most ppl have to get buffed just to wear it. I for one am lookin forward to the rebalance. It might give the armorsmiths, like myself, that are not masters yet, the chance to sell some armor and make some money so we can buy resources to grind our way up instead of havin to run missions for hours just to get cash. I don't understand why everyone is gettin so upset over the rebalance. IT'S JUST A GAME!!!!!!!!So have some fun and stop beatin your head up against the wall over something that is going to happen whether u want it to or not.

I dunno. My fear is that if in fact armor stats are lowered across the board, they won't be able to figure out how to nerf existing armor. I've seen some dev rumblings (or at least TH comments) that indicate they will, but frankly they've yet to nerf any existing items after a change.

The T21 was nerfed without changing its schematic, and therewere pre-nerf T21's floating around for quite a while. There's still armor out there with resists over 90%. They couldn't retro-nerf existingpistols when the schematics were changed to eliminate the weapons with both a power handler and a feed mech. The only thing I've seen them retroactively nerf is crated versions of those pistols, which is a whole different ball of wax due to the way crates and factory schematics function.

That's why I'd quit. From the Publish 7 crafting scare, people were stocking up like crazy on armor - I had one guy buy 10-15 suits in one visit to my vendor. If there is a real nerf coming (and people will know from test center) and they can't figure out how to retro-nerf existing armor, I'm gonna make a killing in the week before the nerf, and never sell another piece after.

I completely agree. If this thing is done right, it will be awesome for the game. If it's done wrong (as most of the things have been) it will suck, and might actually kill the game for 6 months, until all that armor goes away through use and decay. As it stands now, there is a huge rift in PvP between the haves and the have nots when it comes to armor. That rift will get bigger if this isn't done right.

For now though, there is no point in worrying about it. If it is poorly done, like the crafting nerf, it probably won't make it past testcenter anyway. And, on the bright side, they are able to change all the existing Light Sabers, though there are not schematics or factory crates of those.

My understanding is that they're simply disassembling the sabers and giving the enhancements (be they crystals or pearls) back to the saber owner. Not sure how that would work with armor.

Anywho, in the last state of the game letter, Rich Vogel pointed out that the combat rebalance has been pushed back to Publish 11. With Publish 9 not scheduled to go live for over two weeks (June 22nd) and the time between publishes at least six weeks, you're looking at probably three and a half months before the combat rebalance (and any accompanying rebalance to armor) hits.

In three and a half months I have a strong feeling I'll be ready to try something else out if armorsmithing isn't doing it for me after the rebalance.

This is my take...If you make good armor now, you'll still be making "good" armor post-nerf, comparatively speaking. Sure, the numbers will be lower, but relative to everyone else, your stats will still be better.

In a weird way, it might be a good thing for business..less resists means more damage cutting through -- > armor degrades faster -- > more purchases more often.

The only way I would leave the profession is if they use caps to limit the resists on armor. I can't imagine how boring it would be to hit a cap, knowing you'll never get better.

As for the previous poster who suggested this would be good because armor would wear out faster, I would like to point out that if the armor is nerfed, those same buyers won't be doing the high paying missions anymore, and they won't have the money from them to buy your armor.

I believe the effect of the planned changes will result in me selling a variety of different types of armour rather than just one (2 inc. Wookie armour). I look forward to change - keeps life interesting.
