Thread: Armorsmithing Mandalorian Armor *SPOILERS*
*** WARNING *** SPOILERS! ***
Also be warned that Test is volatile and changes do happen. This may not be exactly what hits live (in fact I already see a patch note about the NPC that gave us this info). Anyway, here's what I know:
- Armorsmiths are involved, but they're not the only crafting profession.
- Tailors and DE's also get to craft parts of the armor (although it doesn't sound like you will have to have all 3 at once).
- Yes you have to go into the hideout yourself.
- Armorsmiths don't make all the armor, just certain pieces (the biceps, boots, and chestpiece). The other pieces are made by the other professions.
- The Mandalorian armor will require a base piece of Bounty Hunter armor, some Alum obtained in the mines that are part of the hideout and two chemical elements (location as yet unknown).
The source for this information is a poor fellow, an enslaved technician working in the Hideout. Here's what he had to say:
- The overview.
- Who makes the chest/biceps/boots?
- What do you need.
- And then what?
- What happens if you fail.
General notes about the Death Watch Hideout thus far: it rocks. It's a ton of fun. It's also huge. We've only explored a small fraction of it. That part has been fairly challenging and has had a cool story and all that. TC has been incredibly unstable of late. This has prevented us from really digging deeply into the place (as the zones keep dropping, more often than every half hour with 10+ people around). IMO, this is definitely the coolest new content added yet and I can say that without having seen the rest. To stress how huge it is, just standing on top of the place you can see what must be at least 200 red dots.

Why on earth do DE's make Mandolorian Armor Bracers and Helmets and Tailors make Mandolorian Armor Leggings, Belt, and Gloves(?)?!?!?!?!
Are armorsmiths going to be making droids and clothing next?
I don't begrudge other crafters new content, but let it be droids and clothing. Not armor.

I think it makes sense. You're essentially modifying BH armor to turn it into Mando. The helm and bracers from Fett's suit are packed with electronics, hence the DE's. Fett's pants and biceps look more like clothing than armor. Kind of a stretch, but interesting nonetheless.
I'm still busy with RIS. By the time I'm done with a few pieces of that the game's gonna have more content than I'll know what to do with.

Hmm that's a good point on the experimentation. Are DE's and Tailors going to be able to experiment on this? And will they need Clothing and DE experimentation tapes to get the +2 points? Also, what about resources. I'm sure it will probably take some new ones, but if any overlap from some of the other armors, AS's already have the best for armor, DE's and Tailors won't.
I've got a bad feeling about this armor ![]()

I think it makes perfect sense. The electronics involved in Mandalorian armor certainly do not fall within the domain of an armorsmith. Also, as a non-armorsmith, I think it's much more fair that DE's and tailors get involved in the deal so that armorsmiths don't get to line their pockets even more with the millions of credits that would be charged for a single piece.
I hope I see more of it that I have RIS armor. I'm still yet to see a single piece of it.
