I was reading a pikeman guide last night and it said "I think pikeman is the BEST PvE against creatures class, and the WORST PvP class." Would you say this is true?

I'm more concerned about the PvE

PvE is great.. i get 5k xp of rancors using sweep 1 in a group of 20 people and getting incapped halfway through.. PvP.. can barely take a dancer....

for the moment yes, our pvp sucks, pve can rock at higher levels and stuff. still we need work

and Davco as far your sig goes, we have more than one leader, Val was the most active in game but trust me we have our leaders in charge still

Pikeman in PvE is definitely much better than in PvP, but I'm not convinced at all that Heavy Swordsmen are not better overall in PvE, they do more damage and they counterattack, which evades all damage.

It's not acceptable to say that since we're good at PvE(at high levels) it doesn't matter that we completely blow at PvP. We should be at least competent at both - many of us want to be involved in the GCW, and it's wrong to tell us to choose another combat class if we want to be able to contribute anything meaningful to the cause.

Right now my Pikeman/Doctor is functionally only a Doctor when it comes to PvP. If anyone tries to fight me, I scream like a little girl and run away to hide. That's just wrong, seeing as how many points we have to invest to get these weak PvP skills...

I really think swordsman is better in PvE and PvP. I am a master PIkeman and was 3/4/4/2 as a swordsman (didnt have all the accuracy mods) and I noticed I was doing much more damage as a Swordsman. Unfortunately. So, if you want PvE try sword, I am being honest and unbiased (as I do love pike).

Thankyou all. I really felt screwed whenI heard how bad pikeman was, this gave me a little faith.

Valadon put my picture in his signature first, calling me the leader of IMP. His statement was even further from the truth, IMP doesn't even have 1 single leader, and of the several people to be considered 1, I am definitly not one of them.

to be honest i am convinved Heavy Swordsmen are better at PvE considering the massive amounts of damage they do. Tho i havent spent much time around them. Fighting with my TKM friend i notice that he is generally better at killing mobs(tho there are exceptions), tho he doesnt stay in the fight long because his specials run his mind out - mine arent much of a problem fully buffed. Tho tonight we were night sister hunting and we both got hit by muon gold downers - conserving our specials the night sister caned me - while he was then able to outlast the nightsister(sentinal i think) - it wasnt able to hurt him. I think he is gonna relook at his tough mob killing appproach now - with a more passive outlook.

In pvp we are both effective - in a straight fight he would always win but combine my checky mind-dot nightsister lance with near 90% resists armour im an equally effective weapon - take my equipment away from me and i reckon i would have difficulty killing him if he was laying infront of me prone, as the naked as the day he was born, helping me to hit him, - my weapon harming the air around him, and when it finally connects doing massive damage as its is reduced by god knows how much for unarmed toughness, and then again god knows how much for melee mitigation.

Anyway i ramble, as i am wont to do at this time of night. A brief answer is i believe we are effective at mob killing tho certainly not the best, and are VERY underpowered in PvP.

And I add, I LOVE THIS CLASS.

Dude, Islaughter Chefs Merchantsso fast it's not even funny...........we really need to be nerfed.......it's outrageous that we are still allowed to do this!.......

and in PvE the damage i do to the poor wee cute Gnorts is truly outrageous.

i have a friend who is a heavy swordsman, and his bleed(which is bleed one) does about 2500, and my bleed(which is bleed two) does maybe max of 1300.
