Thread: Is there any point to go beyond +20 on experimentation?
The extra 5 experimentation adds to your chance of getting an amazing success just like bonuses from FS crafting skills and/or being in a research center city.
Now that critical failures on assembly have been removed, assembly bonuses do absolutelt nothing. My amazing success assemblies are always identical to my great success assemblies. Myabe this comes into play if you are using low quality ingredients or are limited on experimentation.
I have read that the assembly skill is also there to determine the succes of your Experimentation, and that the experimentation skill ONLY determines your exp points.

think he means that it made a diffrence what you experimented on. Now we can experiment protection or we can experiment condition. Not like more special or more base protection. Sure we can layer, but whats the point... It was more complicated back then and you had the stun factor which would make some armor harder to make than other.

Yeah, armor experimentation now is a 1 bar monkey profession. I know you can experiment in either resists or condition, but who'sgonna max condition before resists?
In other words, everyone using the same resources will come out with the same resists.
Not like pre-CU when you actually had to think about which bar you weregoing to spend your skill points in.

Back when you made layers till you were blue in the face to get the pefect percentage. When I had more pairs of gloves lined up on my wall, Named energy4/3, blast 5/2 and kinetic 4/4 or something like that. Making glove after glove to get your layers right. And then once you got it right, Making one enough segments to make chest plate and helmet to make sure my resources were strong enough to give same results before running off 1k of them.

Wut? Ok, this surprises me a great deal.. What I think is that:
Assembly bonuses on tapes do in fact work exactly like you claim the extra 5 experimentation points work - by making amazing's more likely when experimenting..The exp points do absolutely nothing with regards to how your experimentation results come out, they determine the number of experimentation points you have available and nothing else.
Well.. at least, that is what I have been going off.
