Thread: question about armor
It is possible you have encountered a bug. I have run into several items that would not let me equip or otherwise use them until I had logged out and come back the next day.

I have found when i have trouble, logging out and coming backs fixes most things,

examine the armor, near the bottom, it should say the health, action and mind encumbrances. that is the number it subtracts from your secondaries
some solutions include:
stat migration: move some of your health action or mind to the secondaries you need it in (such as stamina)
get it sliced: if you can get a good encumbrance slice on your armor, that should solve the problem
Different armors have different encumbrance values on them (inspect a piece and you will see this) What the encumbrance number means that when you put the piece on your secondary stats for that value are decreased by that much.
for example. you have a helmet that says encumbrance of 10 for health, 15 for action, 20 for mind.
if you put it on, your heath secondary stats are reduced by 10 (constitution -10, strength -10), your action secondary stats are reduced by 15 (quickness -15 agility -15) and mind secondary by 20 (willpower -20 and focus -20).
(i think i got the names right)
But these stats cant be taken below 0, so if putting on the helmet would take these stats below 0, you wont be allowed to put it on. There are several things you can do to make your secondary stats higher so you can put on the armor.
1. Buffs. Doctors can temporarily increase your physical stats and entertainers can temporarily increase mental stats
2. food. different foods can also increase various physical and mental stats for a short time.
3. Image designet. The can moove your stats around for you, increasing some as they decrease othere (no loss of points either) and these changesdo not wear off (but can be altered agin if desired).
