my battle armor segments usually end up around 877-955, depending on my current resources, then my adv cores end up around 5600+ (good number to hit), then final combine over 6000. 6000 is the TK innate armor, so you should try to at least hit that, unlayered if possible.

You'll learn a new definition of "good" attempting to craft top-end items. I know I did before as a Doc ... "Avian with OQ+PE of 1550 ... only if I have to"

I get 930-933 on all my segments.
I read something last week where someone's recon segment was 947 and they got the final piece maxed out (7000 for energy). My Recon segments are 933 and I hit 10 points below max - core is 6590, final piece is 6990. I'm not sure what the curve is..i.e. how an increase in a segment affects the final number, but that may be able to help you.

I was just thinking. Are you using really good resources in the core With really good resources, maybe 940 caps you out. But if its just decent resources, maybe you need a higher segment. I don't know the cap on the segments.

I started by making recon segments with my best resources. This got me to 971 on the segments. After I figured out the math, i made a run of 908 segments. I paired up two of the 971's with one 908 in my cores. If i used my best resources for the cores, they would have come out to 5680 which would have wasted the extra 80. Instead, I used some medium end hide to hit 5602 on the cores which capped out the armor .. technically wasted 2 pts.

cap is 1000 ... but way to high ... im using on assault 947 and its capped the cores / armor.
im using battle segments 947 and my cores comes out 5500. (crafted armor 5900)
using recon segments 947 and my cores comes out just K4447 E6447 SP5447 (crafte armor K4847 E6847 SPP5847) ... i bet its the ugly hide im using ...

Interesting...so you can cap on cores without capping on segments?
