Are you guys more or less pleased with the job I've been doing?

Have I been mostly helpful (barring my few bad moods)?

Have I been personable/friendly most of the time?

What can I do better?

Please be brutally honest guys. I try to think of myself as working for you, and if you aren't pleased with how I'm doing my job, I'd like to know. Just keep criticism constructive

Caile, I've been very happy with the job you are doing. You are responsive, friendly, and helpful. Being a correspondent is a tough and I'm glad we have someone like yourself in the position.

Caile,

I think you are doing the best you can under the circumstances and the obvious focus of the dev team in the last few weeks. You have come across as friendly, supportive to new players and the community as a whole, informative, and someone who is well grounded in reality.

My frustration is with the devs and the fact that we have had to endure the factory colour bug, the health enhancers and the stat listing bug for so many weeks now. I wonder whether these will ever get fixed.

Hello Caile, I have reaped much information and insight from your posts. I have only posted one previous question last night on this board, but I have read MUCH.

Ok...well, here's the constructive and polite criticism...I am braced for the not so constructive and impolite aftermath it will receive.

Maybe not entirely directed towards you (though, if you honestly review some of your posts with complete unbias you will see there is a tinge of it from you), but since you're the correspondent atm you set the example and can gently guide others how to respond. I find some of the posts brutal to noobs (all noobs, not just armorcrafters), today there was arecent example from a novice AS, as well as the sticky of what things not to ask your armorcrafter. The fact that that thread is a stickysets a tone for this board. While the responses area sarcastically funny, and I'm sure necessary, outlet for armorcrafters, the information in it could be compiled in a much more condense and less patronizing and derrogatoryway towards people who may not have quite understood the basic annoyances to MAS. I'm not saying the thread shouldn't exist. I'm saying IMHO it should not be a sticky. Instead, possibly a singular compilation sticky of the basic things that MAS wish people knew. Basic 101 before you meet your local armorsmith.

The thing is we were all noobs and will be noobs at SOMETHING. Not necessarily this game, but anything in life and we ask stupid questions, ask questions that were obvious in other places because we weren't familiar with our settings, we may not get it the first time...some of us maybe not even after the fifth time because there is so much new information we are assimilating that are all basic knowledge for people who have ridden out the changes since day one, we ask questions that were asked a thousand times previously but we didn't know they were asked previously because we haven't made over a thousand posts to thisboardsince the first day of the game's inception, so they are still new questions to us. It's not like asking a noob question makes a person stupid, or an inferior player, ora jerk. It's not a crime to not know and ask. However, the overall tone from a noob's perspective is that it is indeed a major infraction in this community.

I have had my account since day one, but I left for over a year. So much changed in the entire game that I pretty much consider myself a noob reborn. Also, I'm brand spankin new to armorcrafting.

I do know how to search and look through the forums, but even then, it's overwhelming when you may have one specific question that you're trying to sift search results for, or most likely than not, wanting an answer to something when the search engine is down. Though, I'm half intimidated to ask anything on this board due to the jaded and at times (albeit infrequently) brutally cruel posters makes it so I just refrain.

You're the correspondent...I know you can't control individual people, but you can make an example and possibly in a friendly joking way call people on times when they aren't so friendly to the new members of the community.

Mostly, there are very informative posters of which I am truly thankful for. I think to sum it up, a friendlier safer environment for the noobs at AS, game, and forums could be cultivated here with your help.

Otherwise, from your posts on the state of the profession and your information on other threads, I consider myself lucky you are our correspondent in dealing with SOE and handing out the info you have. Thank you for the time you volunteer, I certainly wouldn't want to do it.

yeah generally i think your doing the job, whenever i have posted a question eiter it has been answered or you have answered it, you have told us your status when we complain about a bug and from what i understand you are doing just as much on the boards we cannot see where you do the actual corrosponding...

as to the previously remark about noob questions... its ok to ask, but you shouldent take it too hard when someone points you in the direction instead of spoonfeeding you with the answer, some of us write quite a lot on lotsa diffrent boards and when we have had to write the same answer for a few times in the same week it gets repetitive, eiter we ignore the question or we point the asker in the direction of the answer.

This might just be my opinion, but i have a feeling its the common handling of it here... ofcourse if i see a questin that can be answerred in a few words i got for it, but if its prolonged answer and i know it has been answered before i usually skip it or refer to the stickies.

I've found that almost all noob questions can be answered definitively with three responses: Yes, No, or a sticky.

redirecting is fine...it's the manner in which the redirection is delivered...and with the exception of the one post today which was redirected rudely and the sticky thread of what annoys AS it's more a "general" feeling...so that can never equate into something that can be "proven."

/shrug, Caile asked, I gave my honest opinion. That's what opinions are...you can take it or leave it.

To be brutally honest you are"Driving" about as well as the captain of the titanic. Nice, prompt, and aside from some minor disagreements about hinderences =) I give you 2 thumbs up. Ultimately though, the ship hit a big @$$ iceburg and is sinking, and gaining speed doing so. Aside from making tons of cash, I hate armorsmithing now, but am too stupid to give it up because I am holding out for something great to happen. I would get more satisfaction from throwing rocks at the devs and would pay more than $15 a month to do so. To do better: Photoshop lewd pictures of the devs (the ones that designed the new armor system) and email it to everyone in SOE - make sure that they are good enough to get them arrested and fired.

For clarification - I enjoy most of the "Combat" changes, but have utter contempt for what they did the armorsmith. Cough... Blix....Cough
