Thread: What if...
.....unlocking the slot had more to do with roleplaying than xping. I mean that sure, xp can be quantified but how do you quantify roleplaying?
Your friends list, marital status, biography, PAcreation all may have a bearing in how its unlocked, since all take some time to do. Point is, if your a dev and you want the game to be enjoyable for all, you dont want some l33t d00d thats spamming 'im gonna be a l33t jedi, i pwn' you want that good roleplayer that can easily play the role, which makes it more fun for everyone.
Who knows maybe a married couple can have a baby thats force sensitive,
(i.e. luke)
Maybe a bio-engineer can get a sample of Dark jedi DNA and clone them....(i.e books after the movie, dark force rising, heir to the empire, and the last command)
not likely, since both would be repeatable....
but i guess its likeanakins birth, where "..there was no father..it just happened" alluding to a more prophetic unlocking of the slot.
either way, i hope the person who gets the slot is deserving, not by there l33tness but by there ability to play the character the way it should be, with style, grace and flair.
This would make the experience shared by all, and not focused on jealousy and contempt. Though a jedi thats good at first may indeed "fall" to the dark side, i hope the code that chooses him/her is a masterpiece of programming worthy of the force, not a random or lazy code that picks a random loser that may everyone hates.

Id like to open your moms slot for her.....
but i dont have the time or the force...![]()
I agree Dredawg, but to a point: can't compel players to be overly social (e.g. marriage), but can make sure they are (i.g. tipping, apprenticeship) for a basic degree. I do like the idea of being on other people's friend's lists versus being on their Ignore ones.
The difficulty with this is that they have admitted people who never roleplay can succeed at it... Although I tend to try to find methods which would not center complete on XP/grinding, since nearly everyone does that, which seems unlikely to result in the Force sensitive rarity they want.
"Maybe a bio-engineer can get a sample of Dark jedi DNA and clone them"
Heh. They get this from a Force amplification crystal.
Ace, if you continue to stalk Ceist, we're going to have to report your abuse. This kind of behavior is not tolerated.

What if devs actually came in game and chose people that they felt should be jedi in accordance with things that they did, or the way they acted? Maybe show up all of a sudden looking like any normal player and ask for some kind of help, whether it be major or minor and depending on how we responded and the decision that we made, held a difference with our chances of becoming force sensitive. Yes you can say that, "The devs said that hardcore players will probably get it sooner so there must be some kind of system that you have to work towards..." Aren't hardcore players online a lot more? And have more ofa chance to meet with one of these people? Also what is a better way to hide something within a program in today's modern world then to not have it at all. If this was true do you think near as many people would be playing if they knew that they could not work towards being a jedi? Of course not, the devs want you to play the game to the fullest, thats why they tell you these things like "we should be seeing one within this amount of time because they are in total control of when jedi appear and who they are." What better way to keep the population down then to control the whole thing? Also this would make so much sense as to why any profession can become force sensitive, as well as why people wouldn't "realize" what they did to become force sensitive. This is just something that has been on my mind and I wanted to share my thoughts with you. I wish all of you luck on discovering the FS slot and I appreciate all the feedback that everyone has been giving in the effort to helpplayers become a jedi.

Yeah........NO
Im sure devs
A has better things to do
B wouldnt be able to say everyone will eventually get it if they play long enough Hundreds of thousands of people play this for them to hand pick people is a lottery style way and would be SUPER cheap and wrong for them to do it this way
