So most people who love the continuity of the SWG universe are like me. We hate seeing nothing but composite armor running around. EVERYONE wears composite armor. Who would'nt when you can get up tp 90% resists on everything, and up to 40% on stun. Lightsabre being the only Vul. of course.
Hereare the problems:
You dont see Comp armor in any of the movies.
Everyone wears it and nothing else while fighting.
Makes ALL other armor inferior!
Makes it impossible for only a Master AS to make money.
HAM costs mean nothing with a buff and vasarian brandy.
Mainly:
IT CONTRADICTS ITSELF!!!!!
why you ask? The description says "its a modern HEAVY armor..."
Lets explore that.
If it is Heavy armor, then why do Fencers and TKA's and pistoleers use it? Arnt these professions based primarily on speed and agility? If i equip HEAVY armor shouldnt I move slower??? Yes of course you should.
Here's the Solution:
First Make armor much harder to craft. Resource specific the higher lvl armor.
Second- Make the bonuses(that i talk about below)according to the skill of the Armorsmith.
Make Composite armor and all other armor have specific BONUSES and PENALTIES besides HAM costs. Make slower professions able to use COMP armor or other heavy armor by giving certain bonuses of CLASS requirnments to use it. And restrict other classes be able to not use it by providing Heavy penalties.
Here are some Examples with Bonuses and Penalties:
Comp Armor: Bonuses- Melee/Ranged def +2, Heavy weapon speed +5, Block +5, and so on.
Penalties- Unarmed/1-hand/Pistol speed -50, thats a negative 50
Terrain Neg negative 5
Accuracy to the above weapons negative 15
Padded Armor: Bonuses- Carbine/Rifle/Pistol/ +5, Accuracy +5, 1-hand/unarmed speed +5
Penalties- Heavy weapon speed negative 20, accuracy negative 20
So you get the point that im trying to make. Add bonuses and penalties to armor to make it make more sense as to what profession is using it. What values of the bonuses and penalties is fair? That's for you devs to decide.
Here are some ideals on if you made armor Class specific:
Who should Wear: Who Shouldnt Wear:
Composite: Commandos, Rifleman, Swordsman, Pikeman Pistoleer, TKA, Fencer, Carbineer
Padded: All normal RANGED professions, BH Commando, all Melee Professions
Tantel: Mainly Melee Professions. normal Ranged
Ubese: All Melee professions All ranged professions
Bone: Anyone, Universal
Chitin: Commando, Rifle, BH, Sword, Pike Also heavy armor, so no "fast" profs.
Marabiweave: All Ranged proffesions
RIS: BH, Commando, Ranger, Squad Leader
This is just my ideal to increase the Gameplay of SWG. Thank you for your time.

You forgot faction specific armor
There is really no need to complain about the state of armor in the game right now because we have no clue what the future holds for itin the combat revamp. Everything is going to change (for the better I'm sure)

Armor is already one of the most complicated and difficult items in game to craft. So take your nerf talk elsewhere.
It's buffs that ruin the game, why don't you go peddle your nerf talk in the doctor forum.

Actually I think buffs should be made of dantooine horn instead of avian meat.

Talus is abolutely the worst for getting avian meat. I spent 3 hours getting 2k one night. Image if they made each buff type's avian from a different planet. For instance, Health buff Talus Avian, Quickness buff Lok Avian etc.. Would be a nightmare. But, heres another view if they nerf buffs how are we suppposed to fight these mobs that do specials that go up to like 7k for instance. I mean even in large groups everyone would die without a decent buff. So if they nerfed buffs the difficulty of mobs would have to go down.

Yeah, I think Im going to have to agree that its the buffs, not the armor, that is overbalanced. If buffs werent ingame, Im pretty sure people wouldnt even be able to fit into extremely heavy armor.
