Wookiees wear arm bands, jerkins, wrap around cloth to start. Ask a friendly Artisan to share his product.

I've heard that wookies arnt able to use chest armor.. And that is one of the disadvantages to them, Because later in the game I've heard that armor is a very critial thing.

The armbands and such listed above are clothing. Wookies can not wear any armor of any kind, unless they've changed it since the beta.

Wookies can wear some armours made of natural materials such as bone armour. This is what I have been told, havent gotten any yet but my freind who is a crafter says he has made some for wookies.

Allow me to repeat...Wookies can not wear any armor. Some of the reinforced stuff they can wear looks like armor, but Wookies can not wear any bone, any chitin, etc. No piece of any kind. Trandoshans can wear all but boots and gloves, Wookies can not wear any.

I just found this out myself after about 40 hours of play and I am not happy about it. This should be listed in the manual and the online species guides as a disadvantage, but I had never seen reference to it until I found out the hard way. What do wookies have that compensates for this? I was trying to be a brawler, so I need to be able to get up close and take some hits...

Wookies get an insane amount of extra stat points to compensate for the no armor bit. Go to character creation and look at all the pros and cons for the races. Wookies get like 400 extra stat points.

I'm sure that if you play around with stats that you will find a good combination that works well for your wookie. I have heard from some people that played around with their strength that it seems to be somehow coupled with the amount of damage you take. So maybe you can do some stat migrations and see how true this is or reroll on another server.

In terms of stat migration I heard horror stories bout how long it takes. I was pleasantly surprised to see that although it does take some time not as much as others have mentioned ( Think mine moved 35 in about 4 hours).

Dude, go play a wookiee for a month as a tka, commando, ch, ANY class. The ONLY kind of armor a wookiee can wear is a shield generator and they aren't reliable. now darthFerguson says that we get stat points that compensate for not having a 25% absorbtion, or 85% resits to ANY type of damage. Right yeah and you are a wookiee i presume and can stand side by side to your tka friend in 85% kinetic resists and take just as many hits as him.

Now as for me im a wookie have been since the beginning and will not change despite the things I don't like. See i have 400 extra stat points and almost maxed my regen poolsl + i have tka defenses right now since its my currect compliment to MCH, EVEN with the stat enhancments ..only 400 again...I cannot take near the amount of hits that my friend can as a tka...hes in full ubese and takes a beating from enraged rancors...might i add 2 of these guys ...and he can tank them like they are nothin. So you say 400 points in my stat pool will compensate for the lack of resists, for the lack of that light armor ability. Well try this if Im getting hit for 1000 and have 0 armor on and you're getting hit for 1000 with an 80% resist to the type of damage and then light armor on top of that that would be well lets see 1000-80% would be 200 damage minus another 25% means you're accually taking 175 damage? yeah my math is off but you get my point. While i take full 100% damage you have the chance of taking 100% less damage due to your armor. So 400 stat points compensate for the armor? I think not.

In conclusion...wookiees need armor. plain and simple to balance combat....we need armor equal to that of composite, ubese, ris ect ect.

A note to those who don't know...next monthly update wookiees shoudl be getting armor ...im trying to find the post but can't at this time...ill post it when i find it.

Please don't take this as a personal attack to you darth it isn't meant to be I just wanted to constructivly show you how wookiees are lacking in combat wihtout the same benefit of armor as non wookiees get. Plain and simple it sucks being a wookiee combatant wihtout MCH. My pets are my armor without them id die as any other combatant...unless i had master doc then id have an easier chance of living since ill have those buffs.

Well i hope for armor in january and good luck out there all of you..

Armor is over rated. If you can't afford it or wear it find a medic, combat medic, or doctor worth the title and hunt with them. Most of my guild doesnt wear armor and we don't use a lot of high lvl uber pets and can still take things people say we can't because we have a combat medic and a doctor who keep people alive. I solo reds on a regular basis without armor, infact with armor I get killed more often because of the encumberance it has. I once heared a warrior in Everquest say that the best suit of armor is nowhere near as useful as a cleric with full heal.
