just looking for a bit of info on these. I assume they're looted from janta tribe NPCs on dantooine.

-Are they segment enhancers or layers?

-3% is the base, do they go higher? How high?

-How common are they? will I have to kill hundreds of Jantas to get one drop?

-how many hides drop in a batch (avg)?

well actually there are not that many smiths that mess with drops due to the high number needed to do anything worthwhile. I on the other hand am a specialist in this area. The janta hides I have not messed with yet but if they are anything like Kliknick segments they are dropped rarely. The most frequently dropped items are voritor and sharnaff and krayt and kimogila.

The effectiveness of all dropped components vary greatly and i assume these do also.

I dont really know about the janta attributes but I have seen what they are able to do when added to armour. Janta hide gloves are the best adv composite gloves that I have seen in this game soo far. If your on Tarquinas server send someone called Mel a email he has experimented with every type of added segment. Belive me when I tell you he has a whole PA giving him these additions. He has a ton of exp in dealing with this. I belive he could help you the most and give you the best clear cut answer.

It is used in crafting, like rancro hide. Good luck finding some.

They are layers.

Kinda like the nightsisters exceopt they don't reduce encumbrance.

Typical stats are 3% effectiveness.

Only drop I ever had was 2 hides...

I looted 5 of these off of some Jantas today. Now i have heard of janta blood for doc's to use in enhancers.

Can anyone tell me what these hides are good for. They say armor component on and each have a base effectiveness of 3% with 5 of them making that 15%. For the description it says " A piece of janta hide that could be used to enhance and armor segment " .

You can throw these in a subcomponent to boost the resists. You're only going to get 3% per piece of armor though. They don't stack. It works like this, if normal composite gloves are 55%, then using the janta hide will bump that to 58%. The same thing goes for a chest piece, but you'll have to use 5 of the hides to get the 3% bump (4 for the segments, 1 for the factory schematic).

I'd suggest you get yourself a nice pair of biceps for that, 2 each + 1 for the schematic.

you could get 2 pairs of gloves with 9% boost to base effectivness. So if best on your server is 55% base composite you could see that bump to 64%.

Anything else you'll only get 3 or 6% boost because those arn't enough hides to enhance all three layers in other parts of composite.

is the base everything that is around the 55% on the armor ? Or say u have like 80% kinetic for special can u use it to get 83%?

highest craftable resists is suppose to be 80%, 90% if sliced though (not that i seen any that high)
