After reading the Armorcrafting forums, seems that bone is good for blaster damage defense and mabari is good for melee defense

Also armor of anykind will decrease your stats. Each piece of armor has a stat on it which will tell you hoe much of an effect on your stats it will have. Usually between 4-10 for each of health/action/mind.

All the bone armor chest pieces I have seen in the bazarr have an encumberance of 60 on the health pool. Thats pretty steep compared to what it was in beta. It will get better in time as the crafters become more skilled, but in the mean time take that into account when buying the armor.

Heck did not even know they were that bad heh, yeah as more armorsmiths come online that will get way better. I dont use armor mainly for the negative effects on stats.

Lemme tell you stat loss or not, Bone armor kicks ass for most PvP encounters. 90% of all PvPers I have seen so far are not melee and I took on 4 of them in Bestine a couple nights back and worked them over. I evn had one guy go toe to toe with me. Me = Tusken and full Bone Him = clothing and Enhanced CDEF He could barely touch me. I think he maybe did 5% damage to my health bar before I downed him.

Well... bone armor can be picked up almost anywhere. It's EXTREMELY common as you can make it while you're still just an artisan.

As for bone itself... that has to be harvested from creatures. Either find a scout who can sell you large quantities of bone, or pick up Novice Scouting, kill something, and harvest bones. If whatever you killed doesn't have bones you can harvest, kill something else

Yeah, I think you may have to be near a public clothing/armor station. That should solve your problem.

Recently I achieved Engineering IV, reading the skills tree it indicated that I would be able to craft Bone Armor Chest. However, when I opened my crafting station, Bone Armor Chest was no where to be found. Does Bone Armor Chest require any other skills that I am not aware of?

While on the subject of Bone Armor, can I craft Bone Armor Leggings? There is no Bone Armor Leggings listed under Engineering.

Please let me know as I am going crazy trying to figure out the reason I can not craft these two items. Thanks.

Try your armor crafting machine.

Yeah, make sure you have your Clothing and Armor crafting tool. If it still isn't there, it may be to complex to do without a crafting station. Go stand next to a Clothing and Armor crafting station and use the C&A crafting tool. It should be there.
