Thread: Tantel vulnerabilities
Pffttt...figures.
I guess I don't have to worry about collecting avian bones or Bristley hide then.
It's only redeeming quality at this pointis that it can accept a layer.
if they gave us the rest of the suit of armor, and an adv segment, we might be looking at something here. but even then, only maybe.
Can anyone point to any documentation from SOE that states these aren't vulnerable to anything?
There's been a small debate about this ever since our correspondant broke the news that there is no such armor.
Until I see something from SOE supporting those claims, I'll assume it was a myth propagated by the vuln shifting bug and spread by the armor using/making community.
It sucks, but it is what it is.
I've never seen anything official from SOE that stated that these armors will to have no vulnerabilities. I think that it's a myth that has perpetuated itself because people really want to believe that it's true. I don't think I helped the situation any with the version 2 of the Guide when I used some rather ambiguous language that could be read to say that Tantel, RIS and PSG's were not supposed to have any vulnerabilities.
I was informed yesterday as to what the vulnerabilities of PSG's are supposed to be. I'm just waiting on permission to release that information.

For some reason I'm betting Stun is one of them. I think it would be beneficial if it wasn't one though. It would certianly give people a reason to purchase AND USE PSGs, because of the low condition they're mainly only useful for PVP anyways. Stun being a protected damage type would be very beneficial.
I don't think it was ever published, but where is it published the specials and vulns for each armor type. The fact is PSGs, RIS and Tantel can be, and often are, crated with no vulns. These are also the only types of armors that have shifting vulns.
I think that these armors were originally not suppose to have vulns but it easier for the devs to add a vuln to them than fix the defective code.
Well I am wrong. This is from the adv game guide written by designer Ben Hanson
Shields also have an innate protection against Stun damage which no other crafted armor has.
