Thread: Looking for information
Is there anything in any dev quotes which states that opening 'the slot' is NOT done directlyby a DEV? Maybe they hand pick players and give them the FS slot. I was reading quotes but couldn't find anything about them not hand picking players based upon their actions in the game.
Just a thought..
there is a big thread on this board with most of the dev quotes on it.
I did see a post on another web site that claimed they had hacked this game, they claimed to have only seen part of the programming code for the FS slot but one of the things they said the programming looked at was the use of profanity, macros and some other stuff that was not related to actualy playing the game.
This might be BS though, so don't panic yet!
I am actually think if there would be anything from the movies that could give us a clue. I mean Yoda tested Luke a great deal before he told him he was the person he looked for.
“We've already stated that it will be very hard to become a Jedi. We don't plan to randomly choose Jedis or put in a hard cap thereby making it impossible for some to ever get there. We do intend for it to be really really hard. Not necessarily ‘hardcore’ though, meaning a more casual player can still become a Jedi.”

Secondpost of the dev quotes list, about halfway down.
CSRs can barely answer all the tickets in the game. Let's make a rough estimate of the amount of tickets recieved per amount of CSRs.
A unresearched estimate of 10% of the players in the game submit tickets; 27,500. Rough unresearched estimate of 1,000 CSRs(doubtful). 27,500 / 1,000 = 27.5 tickets that every CSR must answer.
So a CSR must manage about 28 or so people. Small scale, seems easy. What does this all have to do with hand picking people to be FS. Say the same system is used for the FS.
Why would SOE employ a group of people when they could save money by having a programmer code in an automated system, that should have been tested and debugged in its early stagees, that could easily choose people for FS?
And why did I give an example of CSR/tickets, beats me.
