I don't think it is particularly pervy to /eyebrow. If you did /lick or /ache that would be another story. I tend to /bite the patrons... cause I'm mean.

I hang with the dancers in Theed on Corbantis performing music. I see a lot of behavior and no that wasn't out of line. The dancer may have had someone earlier who did get out of line, there are a lot of them. I often step in and warn a player down who is getting out of line and that wouldn't get me interfering. Now if you followed it with more aggressive emotes after getting a friendly response I can see them getting upset but if you simply chatted back or did /smile and other friendly emotes once you knew they were ATK I see nothing out of line.

Wouldn't seem out of line at all to me. I probably would have /peered, since I can't /squint, but I wouldn't have been angry.

But then I'm probably not the one to ask. I feel like people who run around in fleshwraps/bikinis/leotards/etc. SHOULD expect to be leered at and should take some of the responsibility when it happens. That's pretty much the reason why I can count on one hand the number of times I've worn a leotard/fleshwrap out in public....

I don't believe that you acted out of line. I've seen out of line behavior, and that was far from it. The fact that you have a way to try to illict a response from someone in a roleplaying sense is pretty cool. It's something more than a friendly wave, and it is appropriate for finding a person randomly somewhere. It makes it so you were somewhat surprised.

I think some entertainers lately have just been really touchy by any kind of emote or talk. I've had a similar rudeness of a response from a dancer.

Oh, and I personally wear the more risque clothing because my character is trying to attract attention to her body. She's not a whore, but her backstory is such that her body and its physical appearance is a strong part of her.

Thanks for the responses. It's nice to get confirmation that I wasn't being a jerk.

No, I don't think you were being a jerk (not to mention that it would be totally out of character for you as it is). But keep in mind, we do see a lot of completely inappropriate behavior aimed at dancers (I don't get near as much of it when I'm playing music). The last person who sent her a tell or emote may have been so rude as to set her off on all men for a week! Last night I was in a NPC cantina and there was a fellow just going from one dancer to the next asking for a "private dance".As for the way we girls often dress when performing; well, I'm not likely to dance in mycomposite any more so than you would be to go into combat wearing an exquisite leotard.

I really, really, really, really REALLY hate the /pat emote. It's condescending and it makes me violent. Anyway, that has nothing to do with this.

No, you were not being a jerk at all. It would appear that this girl is a little gunshy about, well, any man she meets in game. I can't particularly blame her, nor can I say that because of the way she dresses, that she is 'asking for it'. I dress like a complete whore pretty much all the time... (in game that is, LOL) because I like the sexy clothes. It's sort of my trademark. It doesn't mean I want every man in the game to hit on me.

Okay, say you're a female Human with a supermodel physique and you're in the cantina, wearing a fleshwrap, and dancing. Now some guy walks in, looks around a bit, and then /eyebrows you. What would you do?

I am that guy. The woman sends me tell that says, "back off perv." Now, I can kind of understand where she's coming from. I suppose my raised eyebrow can be interpreted as some kind of leer. But honestly, shouldn't a woman shaped and clothed like that expect such looks from men? Or should I assume that people wear these kinds of clothing simply for the healing bonuses?

Anyway, why did I /eyebrow her in the first place? I do this entertainers who I suspect are AFK. I'm sympathetic to the anti-AFK cause, and as such, I like to patronize and talk to those entertainers who are actually there. I also like to roleplay, so simply asking "who's not AFK?" is pretty much out of the question.

How would you suggest I go about determining who's AFK and who's not? I mean, I don't want to offend anybody, and I also don't want to make the mistake of assuming that an entertainer is AFK if he or she doesn't greet me when I walk in. I usually use emotes or tells, but are there better ways that I haven't thought of?
