Smiths,
Can you give me an update on the current status of armor repairs - can you repair armor?

Thanks,

Find a master artisan who can make an armor repair kit with all 3 optional components. We have zero armor repair ability.

Just an FYI.

96% Repair kit with all three optional components failed and poofed an Ubese Jacket.

96% Repair kit without optional components succeeded in repairing a pair of Ubese Boots.

Repair is borked. Armorsmiths do not receive an armor repair bonus.

At this time, armor repair kits will have the same effectiveness and number of uses (+99.90099 with 5 charges if made with piwiepac) no matter if you use optional components or not (which makes me thing optionals are simply broken in the repair kits currently).

From what I understand, that +99.9 is applied as a skill vs the piece of armor's complexity, making bigger armor harder to repair.

Armorsmith don't have an armor repair bonus; Anyone can repair just as well as us.

There ARE "+ Armor Repair" skill enhancements - I havea +24 armor repair one.
(But then again from what I can tell all skill enhancers are flat out broken. At 70 medical use, wearing a +25 enchancer that makes my skill show up as +70/+95, I was unable to use a 78 difficulty enhance pack -- the game said "skill too low, 70/78").

Hi, I'm wondering when I repair my armor so i can get the most use out of it, If it is out of 38,000 should i repair it at the half way point or lower. Sorry, just want to be able to keep my armor as along as I can, especially since item decay is now in effect.

Don't bother, armor repair broke. As master with a 95.3 tool I failed to repair one piece completely and only managed to get another back to 4k out of 31k condition. Save your money up and buy a new suit when your old one burns out, repairing your current one is most likely not going to happen.

I was speaking to a Master Weaponsmith last night that stated weaponsmiths no longer got the bonus to reapir weapons so haveing them fix my weapon is the same as a non-weaponsmith fixing it. Assuming this is accurate, is this true for armorsmiths as well?

What I've seen most is that it doesn't matter who does the repairing. However, from my own experience it DOES matter.

I have two accounts. One account is a Combat Medic/Fencer the other is a master artisan/master armorsmith.

Well naturally my Fencer always has the best armor I can make since he gets it free . He's human so a full set of composite is 9 pieces. Using 99.307% repair kits, I attempted to have him repair his armor. Five of the nine pieces were destroyed.

However, my Master Armorsmith using repair kits from the same crate as above has repaired as many as 36 pieces of armor (4 full suits) consecutively without destroying a piece. Then he destroyed two in a row.

Would be really nice if devs would at least tell us how this is supposed to work since armor get decayed from two sources. It decays when you take hits and it decays when you get killed. I had one customer destroy two full 300,000 credit suits of composite in 2 weeks. He didn't learn the first time he asked me to repair armor that was at zero condition . I hope he learned his lesson the second time.

Hey I gotta few questions.

I'm about to repair my lowbie composite armor since it is getting pretty low. What shouldI look for other then a repair kit? I mean i'd be unhappy if i lost it becauseI don't have money for another even if it is a crappy one

Get the highest rating you can find and pray. Rapair is borked, nobody has a bonus.

is there a certain percentage of damage the armor needs to be above to have a chance at repairing with no reduction in its maximuj condition ? usually thats what i get when i repair my armor but now the last two tries the peices have broken apart.

please advise, thanks all.

Not sure. To be honest, I never repair a piece of good quality armor until it's very low, like 5k/32k condition, just incase you botch it. That way you if it works you get to reuse your armor, if it doesn't, it was in such poor condition that you would've had to buy new stuff anyway.

From what I heard, Battle Fatigue plays a part in the repairing process.
