Is using the armor repair device dependent on your armorcrafting skill in anyway?

Does it matter if an armorcrafter repairs armor vs joe schmoe?

I made a fully optimized repair tool and used two of them on chitin armor at condition 0. The condition went negative or the item fell apart. Is armor repair bugged? I tried this 10 times and all had similar results, maybe im doing something wrong. Any help would be great

I agree, repair is bugged BIG TIME. I tried repairing a piece of armor that I made after a friend had used it to the point that the durability was zero.

Oops, forgot to finish. When I repaired it, 1 item was destroyed, the others all suffered worse condition than before. Only 1 was successfully repaired. 1 out of 10 attempts.

You need an armorsmith or master artisan REPAIR your armor with a ARMOR REPAIR TOOL..

Read the artilce i posted regarding repairing weapons.. its the same thing just instead of weapon.. replace it with armor.

using a repair kit on anydamage itemwill reduce the max condtion of the item...this is not bugged...imo this is working fine

items at condition 0 cannot be repaired...when you try it will become a negative value.

No. Armor repair works fine. You just can't repair armor that has 0 durability. if it ever reaches 0 it should probably just destroy itself, maybe it's supposed to and it's bugged. But try repairing it at 3000 durability and it works.

Oh, and it rarely gets repaired to full condition. Usually if it was 3000/18000 originally it will get repaired to 16000/16000 or something like that.

I also only notice about a 5% failure rate. Can't wait until my armor repair boosts kick in.

Though sometimes I get 3 failures in a row.

As it is now, the chance of damaging or completely destroying your armor is about 50/50 or less, (a brawler has the same chance of failing/repairing armor as a master armorsmith). Is this a bug? Or is it supposed to be like this?

Yes, they removed the repair bonus of armorsmiths at the end of beta. But experimentally, if you use a repair kit on something that's about 40% damaged, It will do well about 77% of the time, lower the max durability a bunch 18% of the time, and destroy the item about 5%, at least according to the testing I've seen.

I can't seem to find info on how armor repair works. Let's say I have some boots that are at the status of 0/1000. Do they need to be repaired? I assume so, so I repair with a kit.

Now they someone succeed, and are now -233/800

Why are they negative? Do I have to repair again? Did I have to repair the 0 in the first place?
